Simply Windows XP is better than Vista

Really, saw that blog post yesterday, and it's just pathetic. Its unoriginal, not amusing despite best attempts, and just wrong. Vista is not a downgrade from XP, its a superior operating system. I could care less if it scores less in synthetic office benchmarks that bare zero resemblance to how I actually use my PC; I find Vista a fast OS that works great. Getting pretty sick and tired of seeing pathetic blog posts bashing Vista. Especially uninformed stupid ones.

no dual boot no virtual machine he did not try to wait for a driver (manufacturers fault) or change to another card but just downgraded sad

thats one of the things that bothers me the most people claim they cannot upgrade because of a driver

microsoft offered support to manufacturers to make drivers well before vista's launch and a year later there are some devices with no vista driver

No problem here with Vista Ultimate X64. And things are just going to be better with SP1 comming soon.

The original poster never came back.... Just a Troll posting something unoriginal about XP -vs- Vista. The only thing that XP has over Vista is gaming speed. But then again, I will not "downgrade" to XP just for a couple of FPS... I much prefer to play with DX10 games.

Vista runs perfectly fine on my computer, thank you very much. I definitely will not be "upgrading" to Windows XP.

Yea because 4 gigs of DDR2 for 100 bucks is awfully expensive, and clearly not worth it. Give it a break.

my computer that i built in August gets a 5.5 yet i still use XP.... the "index" doesn't tell you what OS you'll use lol

I like vista too, I use it as my main OS, and its been veryt stable. However I do think the indexing thing is stupid. It just takes the number of your slowest component and calls that your score., I think an average number out of all of them would make more since.

But actually nothing happened much since Vista is out, except of a faith of people who are just believe too much many noobs. Noobs, that are propagandize something they don't even know about. Vista took over 3 years of public testing, unlike few months for XP. It was out already as stable and reliable. People, who are screaming out now XP rocks - Vista sucks was screaming out 98 rocks - XP sucks back in 5 years ago. Majority of them are complete noobs in computers and they don't know what is what. And some of them are just religious fanatics who believe in a magical Service Pack.

The very fact that every time a thread dealing with the Vista/XP relationship/comparison/etc. ends up with several pages of people making comments indicates something about Vista. Generally speaking people would agree that most new OSes from MS have been upgrades with the exception of ME and now Vista. Unlike ME (I have yet to find someone who really liked it), some people really like Vista.

I tried Vista on my laptop for about two weeks but I always had XP on a second hard drive that I would swap out to do work. I got to the point where I would do the work on Vista but I found the OS overhead was not proportionate to what I was getting (my XP has undergone most of the contents of various transformation packs so it is similar to Vista). I finally gave up on Vista when I realized I had to turn my firewall off each time to update my smartphone because MS had not worked that out fully yet. Anyway, the point is that while I like many features of Vista, I just didn't like the load it put on my laptop which is dual core (or perhaps I should say "duel" core the way the monitor would show the separate cores bouncing up and down when Vista was running), 2Gb Ram, 256MB ATI graphics, etc. If I had a desktop, I would consider it more.

Vista still doesn't have the right drivers for my system so there is no point for me + Vista. Linux has better driver support. I'm sitting here and telling myself that this is why the open source community always has something better to offer. But on the windows side XP is by far better than VISTA.

Well this person must have a @#$$ computer as mine loads vista really fast and can use programs as soon as I log on. Hell, I can type in my password as the vista orb shows and have desktop loaded like *Snap* that.

As a member of the XP technical beta I can tell you most assuredly it was in testing for more than a few months. I have an entire spindle of beta CDs. ;)

Growing pains of a new OS. You can resist as long as you want, Vista is here to stay and once everybody else catches up (hardware, drivers, software), all these problems will go away.

video capture, and didn't even know what was this EAX thing.

What else: I observe lot of attempt by Vista to connect to internet.

Are they trying to spying me ? I don't like also the need of Vista to regularly phone home

in order to check the license.

IMHO i didnt like vista, i mean here i have XP SP2 and its working perfectly fine with me. So the leap to vista is just unjustified, and with the incompatibilty issues i think i'm gona wait a year or so before making the switch and now with the news about SP3 it might take me a longer time before considering vista.

In the last couple of weeks, two of my friends got new Toshiba laptops with vista home editions pre-installed, i just finished formated one of them and trying to convince the other friend to let me do the same for his computer.

I only went back to XP because of Crysis, but i still love Vista - As soon as i can get a decent performance in Crysis under Vista, I'm going back.

ok the rist part is BS Vista does not take time to check each file cause MS/vista could care less what is in the fiell you have cause well that be an invasion of privacy and at the same time files dont take long to copy on mine so unless they can scan all 9gigs i transfered from 1 HDD to another in 2mins or less then fine but that in no way has anything to do with DRM. now your capture card part of your video card dont work no more right? well WTF does that have to do with vista if you have a complain about that call Nvidia or ATI maby they driver no longer have support for that function so call them dont instantly blame MS

ok now Creative labs sound blaster cards mmm no longer EAX in vista well that i call BS because they have a little peace of software now called alchemy i think is how ya spell it that by passes Vistas sound restrictions so you get full on EAX .

So everything that you claim well the first part anyways is total BS period and the send half is not a Vista problem but rather a Driver issue with your graphics cards manufacture be it Nvidia or ATI
