Well that wasn't great.

Maybe i'm not the best one to judge, because despite a good premise and an engaging leading man I thought Season 1 was only marginally superior to Hollyoaks, still making it less fun than contracting the Norovirus.

Did show an improvement over S1 - did anyone else feel that James Marsters looked a bit like that Robson Green bloke?

^Lol

I enjoyed the first episode, I never really got into Torchwood as much as i would of liked to, I kept missing the episodes.

The minute he walked into the bar I saw that kiss coming a mile away.

And in the previews it seems that "spike" since I can't remember his name in the show, John was it? comes back at a later date due to the preview for the series.

And what was the name he mentioned at the end, Grace or grey?

To be fair, I felt it suffered from the ame issues that series 1 suffered from:

1) It's BBC & British

It's far too british and underproduced. The music never feels big enough, the sets are too bland.

2) It doesn't know what it is

Is it for teens, adults, who?

3) Needless "adult" material

All the adult conversations seem bolted on at the last minute. They don't feel natural. The "Oooh, I am Bi" thing feels like a novelty rather than a character trait.

It's as crap as ever. The only bit I liked was the arrival of Captain John Hart. His scene was very well done. Other then that a load of crap. The two good episodes was the angel one and the airplane story.

I find they are forced to say stupid things and the exposition with the asian bird and her gizmos very annoying.

Quality of the picture and the direction always seem fine, it's the story and music which is very weak. I felt the person playing John Hart outacted everyone. Njlouch I agree with the underproduced, they use sex and kissing to progress the story. As for the british bit, well it's a low form of wit which is causing it being rubbish. A good script will always use this sparingly.

I find the producers let way to much crap get through. Compared to Dr Who, this should be an all out adult. Insteads it's utter tosh and lots of kissing and sodomy. I find Dr Who much better, considering it's got to appeal from ages 5 to 70. So they mix ****ty child storys with slow moving good quality ones (aka Moffat and Cornell episodes).

As for Touchwood, it needs to be refined.

yes kissing scenes are quite annoying and unecessary. :(

:o you haven't saw Torchwood :o :p

It is usually a better show than what it was tonight, much more weird creatures e, ect.

The death was tacky, but he was a good character and as I stated before.

When Russell T. Davies was talking about why they killed Owen he said "This kind of show needs a death every once in a while." OMGZ crap reason

Twas a good episode, I enjoyed it.

I enjoyed the one on BBC three better, "Death" was interesting, well, it was an interesting take on him, instead of a robe sorta thing he was a skeleton surrounded in black fog.

And after watching Owen die, I knew they were going to bring him back, though I'm not sure how happy I would be living and not having certain "parts" of me work anymore. :p

^ I just watched it there, and I have to say not a bad episode (but I did want to see more weevils and a fight between them or something) Anyway.. Rappy yeah i think he could die at any time because Tosh said You could live another 30 years and Owen said .. or another 30 seconds :o

    • When will the Photos app be updated to remember the window size and position when reopened? They addressed this issue in a 2024 version of the app (though I can't recall the build number). Unfortunately, after that specific version, the problem persists! Please prioritise this fix in your K2 schedule. Additionally, the Snipping Tool has lost the ability to capture the Windows Taskbar starting from the 2024 version!
    • Same, never saw it on Android or iOS. Guess only some people got it *shrugs*
    • Anthropic pulls Fable 5 and Mythos 5 after US export control order by Pradeep Viswanathan In April this year, Anthropic launched the Claude Mythos Preview frontier model with state-of-the-art cyber and coding capabilities for a select set of companies around the world. After preparing appropriate guardrails, early this week, Anthropic launched Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5, its most capable AI models. Claude Fable 5 is for general users and comes with strict safeguards, while Mythos 5 is designed with fewer safeguards for cybersecurity and biology use cases. Today, Anthropic abruptly suspended access to its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 AI models for all customers after receiving an export control directive from the US government. The company received the directive from the government today at 5:21 p.m. ET, and the received letter did not provide any details regarding the national security concern. Anthropic understands that the government became aware of a method to bypass, or “jailbreak,” Fable 5, which might be the reason behind the directive. The order was issued under national security authorities and requires the company to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether they are inside or outside the United States. The restriction also applies to foreign national employees working at Anthropic. As a result, the company has disabled both models for all customers to ensure compliance. Access to previous Anthropic models like Opus and Sonnet is not affected by this government order. The company highlighted that it had developed strong safeguards to reduce the possibility that Fable is misused for tasks related to cybersecurity. In fact, many developers are complaining that the safeguards are going overboard. Additionally, the company worked with the US government, the UK AISI, multiple private third-party organizations, and internal teams to red-team Fable’s safeguards for thousands of hours. Finally, Anthropic noted that no testers have yet been able to find a universal jailbreak on Fable 5. As expected, Anthropic disagrees that a narrow potential jailbreak should lead to the recall of a commercial model used by hundreds of millions of people. It warned that applying this standard across the AI industry could effectively halt new frontier model deployments. Anthropic concluded by mentioning that it is working to restore access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 as soon as possible and plans to share more details within the next 24 hours.
