I have been loving the new series, I just got Ep4 this morning. According to online, Yanto is going to be snuffed out :(

Ianto lol.

Anywho, I can't see this being the end. As said, why put it on your main channel if your just going to kill it off? Especially since its got quite a lot of new fans this week.

Can defiantly see Louis being a member of the new team, and possibly Rhys having more of an involvement.

Lois lol.

;):p

Hmm..someone reversed the polarity of the neutron flow.

I really hoped this wouldn't happen. I like the ending, just not the way it came about.

Great 5 hours though. I think this is it for Torchwood as it is, if it is bought back, it might be as a reboot perhaps. Certainly seems set up for one to me.

The guy playing Frobisher was brilliant, the best part of the whole series. Wish the entire series was like this, in hindsight.

Lois lol.

;):p

haha, fair enough

One thing that I agree with that one of my mates said though, is when they let Jack's daughter into the room at the end, why didn't she go nuts on Jack? I know I would have if I had just saw my son killed like that. Think it would have been a bit more realistic if she had at least tried.

Yeah I mean Jack can take it, it's not like he's going to get hurt :p

I have to say, this was possibly the best 5 hours of TV I've seen in a very long time. Excellently written drama, very gritty, and a LOT darker than I would usually expect from the BBC.

Rappy - I demand you post immediately if you see/hear any news about Torchwood being renewed again.

Why does it have to be a reboot? That's really not necessary.

Besides, there *are* other Torchwoods other then the one in Cardiff, Jack Harkness (believe it or not) isn't the be all and end all of Torchwood. Besides, we all know Jack Lives for like 5 million years, so there's a good chance they could bring him back at a different time.

Either way, I really love the way they handled this "season" of Torchwood. Instead of doing 8 individual episodes and 4 2-parter episodes like they did with Dr. Who, they did a massive 5-parter series. I have to admit, I wouldn't mind seeing this done again further on down the line, either for Dr Who in between Seasons, or for Torchwood as another official season. It works really well, and is quite possibly RTD's best work to date in the Who universe. It manages to expands a great storyline over the course of 5 hours, which would otherwise just feel rushed in a singular hour show, or even a 2 hour movie.

I was just about to write something very similar to this after recording these and watching them in one shot last night. Absolutely fantastic.

No, it's not necessary. Just seems that way to me. Only Capt. Jack/Gwen returning, though would it be Torchwood without Jack??

IIRC, there are four branches(??). The main one was destroyed, another had just one employee, and the last just disappeared off the radar. So, the Cardiff branch quite possibly is the be all and end all of Torchwood.

Oh, I completely agree. More of this instead of the regular format would be good. And something like this in Who would be much appreciated, given the usually terrible quality of the specials.

anyone noticed how she was smiling whens he was told that aliens will take 10% of kids?

DOCTOR WHO writer Russell T Davies, regarded by many as the country?s best TV dramatist, has rocked BBC executives by announcing that he is leaving for the US.

The move is a major blow because, as well as revitalising Doctor Who, Davies created two popular spin-offs,Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Torchwood, starring Eve Myles, shifted to BBC1 from BBC2 last week, clocking up huge audiences.

But there is now uncertainty over its future with its creator relocating to Hollywood.

Davies said of his move: ?I haven?t planned anything, all my furniture is now there and I?m just going to start writing.

?It will take years to get anything made out there. It?s going to be difficult, so new and so brilliant. I will learn from people and bring it back here one day. It?s a big adventure and a lot of fun.?

Asked about the future of Torchwood, a BBC spokeswoman said: ?It?s his show but it?s too early to say whether it will return. We will look closely at all of the ratings.?

Source

Well the BBC must have asked themselves what would RTD do once he left the show, its not like it's a shock.

Although I don't quite the comment of "I will learn from people and bring it back here one day. It’s a big adventure and a lot of fun"

What you mean when you come back we might have found soem money to do something? Perhaps he might learn something, far as I'm aware Dr Who took a bloody long time to get done under his watch, Moffat was able to write Jekyll and get it broadcast before his Who script even got bloody broadcast.

very good, very dark. This season seemed to be a bit darker in tone than the last ones, but this was a very well written mini-series. I like the reason they gave for why the Doctor doesn't show up sometimes. I wonder if they'll use this to either start a new series or a new season where Jack starts becoming known as the Face of Boa? and also will we ever find out what his real name is.

Im a big Doctor Who fan (the new stuff) and never really got into the Torchwood stuff.

However I just caught this 5-parter on iplayer and can honestly say it was the best, most interesting, exciting and downright ****ing DARK 5 hours of television I've ever watched (ignoring BSG) from anywhere ever.

Kinda hope they dont bring it back actually; but I'm well up for them using this format for Doctor Who - it works so well and as was proved the ratings go sky high over it.

Thoroughly enjoyable.

Now onto True Blood to cheer myself up. Lol!

I've never watched Torchwood, and lost track of Doctor Who a few years ago. I've been seeing a commercial for Torchwood on TV that reminds me somewhat of a mix of "The Midwich Cockoos" (aka Village of the Dammned), Children of the Dammned, etc.

John Barrowman seems to have all the luck at the moment.

The popular actor, who portrays Captain Jack Harkness in Torchwood, managed to survive a terrifying high-speed crash after losing control of his car. 42-year-old Barrowman, whose character on the show cannot die, was filming a slot for Fifth Gear when the accident happened.

He was taking part in a race in Powys, Wales, with Fifth Gear presenter Tiff Needell, who was in the passenger seat when the crash happened. The ?120,000 Subaru slid down a verge, flipped four times and almost went into a lake at the bottom of the hill, according to the News of the World. Paramedics pulled Barrowman and Needell out, and removed shattered glass from Barrowman's eye before he was taken to hospital.

Barrowman said: 'I'm lucky to walk away unscathed. I got a ticking off from my mum afterwards.' Thankfully for his matinee idol looks, the Torchwood star was only left with cuts and bruises and nothing permanent. The crash will be screened on tomorrow's Fifth Gear, which is shown on Channel 5.

he can't get hurt:pp

    • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
