Torchwood - Planning Fourth Season

Torchwood might not have concluded its run at the end of the thrilling miniseries Children of Earth after all - Ianto?s tragic death not withstanding. The new year could bring some ?very good news? for fans of the sexy sci-fi series, creator Russell T. Davies tells TV Guide Magazine.

?The recession has hit British television, but fingers crossed, it will be a go. We expect things to start to move in January. We?ve got great ideas for the show. I think there?s a further lease on life for many years to come, but certainly for a [fourth season],? Davies says. John Barrowman is finishing his run in ?La Cage Aux Folles? in London, so there?s plenty of time to trade his feather boa for Captain Jack?s trench coat.

Such good news! Always hoped they'd bring this back.

Actually he does...?

He is Scottish and moved to the states with his parents and he used to get picked on for his accent so he started talking in an American accent.

Actually i'd disagree with that.

A good friend of mine moved to London from Northern Ireland when he was 10, he's now 40 and has a cockney accent. Would you say his accent is fake?

I wouldn't.

No its not, but did your friend put a fake cockney accent on after moving to london because he was being bullied?

Or like most people did it gradually change over time, Barrowman intentionally put on a fake american accent because of being bullied, it didnt creep in gradually.

Are you trying to tell me an 8 year old boy never picked up the accent? That he is still faking it today?

If you are then let's agree to disagree.

CONFIRMED 13 EPISODE SERIES!

John Barrowman was a guest today on Steve Wright in the Afternoon on BBC Radio 2. During the interview he discuses the future of Captain Jack in Doctor Who and confirms that Torchwood will be back for 13 episodes.

Are you trying to tell me an 8 year old boy never picked up the accent? That he is still faking it today?

If you are then let's agree to disagree.

Yes i am, go watch any documentaries when he goes home to scotland to see his family he reverts back to his proper scottish accent.

My guess is you have only lived in one region in your life? I'm sorry if i'm wrong.

I'm Scottish blood but have lived in England my whole life, i spent a lot of time in Scotland with my Scottish family. I have a strong Cockney accent but within hours of being up in the highlands i will and do talk with a much more Scottish accent.

The idea than 8 year old boy moved to America and is still faking the accent as a grown man is absurd. He was 8 when he started talking like that and so what if he comes back to Scotland and talks Scottish accent, doesn't make his US one a fake.

Russell Tovey to join 'Torchwood' team?

John Barrowman has hinted that Russell Tovey is in line to join the Torchwood team.

The pair recently starred alongside each other in the Doctor Who Christmas special when Captain Jack and Alonso Frame met for the first time.

Speaking to Doctor Who magazine, Barrowman described Tovey's character as "the perfect companion" for Jack.

"What I'd love, what I think would be great, is if Midshipman Frame became Jack's companion in Torchwood. He's the perfect companion for Jack.

"It'd be like Batman and Robin. Of course I'm Batman. He's Robin."

Torchwood third series, which aired in July last year, saw fan favourite Ianto Jones killed off in the penultimate episode, leaving just Captain Jack and Eve Myles's Gwen on the team.

Had a feeling this would happen, when the Doctor fixed Alonso up with Jack. What I would really like is to see Martha and Mickie maybe make an appearance, better still, make it regular. Although I doubt it, what with Freema Agyeman working on Law and Order: UK. Still, would be nice to see Mickie.

An anonymous message-board source says that the naughty Doctor Who spinoff may be spending some time in the U.S.A. for its fourth season. This would be part of a twisty time-travel storyline that includes tons of guest stars, possibly including Nathan Fillion as another Time Agent, Brent Spiner as a U.S. Senator, and more of James Marsters as Captain John. Even the anonymous message-board poster urges you to take this with a grain of salt, since it's all up in the air. (But with Russell T. Davies hanging around L.A., I could imagine him wanting to do some storylines set in the U.S.) [SciFiPulse]

Nathan Fillion :o :D

Here's a man who clearly has two accents... and is struggling to maintain one at a time!

Heh, I wonder if he knows he's switching accents. It's so cute! And that woman's accent was HAWT omgz. Phone number?

Yeah I think it was pretty obvious they were going to do that from that scene alone. But uh, isn't Ianto going to come back anyways? LOL

Nathan Fillion :o :D

Nice. Along with Doctor Who I'd LOVE to see Torchwood episodes based in the US. I think they could do some awesome storylines with US locations imo. Plus, it'd be nice to see Fillion on there, and even better to see Marsters back and Spiner! :D
