Captain Jack is back! After a break of nearly two years, John Barrowman's omnisexual immortal time traveler and his alien-fighting organization will finally return for a new season of Torchwood on Friday, July 8. Subtitled Miracle Day, the 10-episode adventure moves to the show's new U.S. home, Starz.

When last seen in the summer of 2009 the Torchwood unit was decimated and its U.K. hub destroyed as the heroes successfully saved Earth's children from fearsome aliens and cowardly humans. This year Jack and his longtime colleague Gwen Cooper (Eve Myles) team up with CIA agents Rex Matheson (ER's Mekhi Phifer) and Esther Drummond (All My Children vet Alexa Havins) to find out why nobody on the planet is dying. "People still age, they still get sick, they still have accidents, but they live on," says series creator Russell T. Davies. That includes an "executed" pedophile and child murderer named Oswald, played by Bill Pullman, who has a mysterious connection to the crisis.

Despite the action drama series' new U.S. location and its new network, it's still Torchwood, Barrowman promises: "The exciting writing, the darkness, the humor and the sexuality remain."

Is it possible to suffer both extreme joy and extreme agony about this?

I expect it to be better as they did really well with the last series, But this is being funded by US companies so I feel it will be horribly mutilated from it could have been

To be honest, I probably wouldn't notice the difference! I've never been fond of the script quality of touchwood. So I wouldn't expect too much changes other than longer story lines or a story every episode, plus more episodes. The visual quality and quality of the characters probably wont change.

Torchwood writer Jane Espenson has confirmed that a new online spinoff from the sci-fi drama is in the works.

She revealed on Twitter that Torchwood: Web of Lies will accompany new ten-part series Torchwood: Miracle Day when it airs in July.

"There is going to be Torchwood web content," she wrote. "So in addition to [the television series] there is Torchwood: Web of Lies. Enjoy all the [Torchwood] brands!"

In subsequent posts, Espenson also hinted heavily that actress Eliza Dushku will star in the online series.

"We have faith in Torchwood: Web of Lies," she said. "It's tru; there's an echo of my past work in [this spinoff]."

Dushku previously played the character of Faith in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She also starred as Tru Davies in Fox's Tru Calling and portrayed Echo in sci-fi drama Dollhouse. Espenson worked as a writer and producer on all three series.

Torchwood: Miracle Day will air on BBC One in the UK and Starz in the US.

      Microsoft released Windows 11 KB5094149 / KB5095971 / KB5094156 Setup, Recovery updates by Sayan Sen Earlier this week Microsoft released its newest Patch Tuesday updates (KB5094126 / KB5093998 on Windows 11 and KB5094127 on Windows 10). Alongside those, Microsoft also released new dynamic updates. These Dynamic Update packages are meant to be applied to existing Windows images prior to their deployment. Dynamic Updates also help preserve Language Pack (LP) and Features on Demand (FODs) content during the upgrade process. VBScript, for example, is currently an FOD on Windows 11 24H2. This time both recovery and setup updates were released for Windows 11 as well as Windows 10.       Interesting. I'm not using a VPN with my phone. I tried though my home internet (Rogers) and my cellular internet (Telus) using their respective DNS servers and both trigger the dialog above.
