You should have let the BBC pick it back up and continued with the successful formula you had before.

Muppet!

Without Starz i dont think you would have seen a series 4. BBC cant afford to fund a full series hence the partnership.

Well it's a bit slow, but I've decided to stop watching it, as I can't handle watching the gay sex scenes in it, I'm not homphobic or anything against gays, but seeing 2 men together naked in bed turns my stomach.

And I don't need to have this on a tv show I watch especially when it's not really part of the storyline for the show. It may lead into that later on but I'm not sticking around to watch it. epic fail on Starz.

Sorry but it is, that is Jacks character. It makes sense in the latest episode because it gives the villain motivation for what has happened.

Well actually Jack is supposed to be "Omni Sexual" as in the future its not just humans and humans its aliens as well, so the concept of gender is meant to be foreign to Jack when it comes to sex.

However in this series they are really playing up the gay thing. Probably as a tool to get it more in to mainstream tv. Jack has always preferred men anyway it seems, with the occassional woman thrown in for good measure, preferably at the same time ;)

But then again Torchwood in general has always been a lot about the sex as it is meant to be a much more adult show than Doctor Who. Which is why they said Doctor Who will not cross in to Torchwood as it could run the Doctor character however Torchwood can cross in to Doctor Who as it just needs to become more family friendly for a short while.

Either way it doesn't really add or subtract from the storyline, it just goes towards creating an emotional bond between Jack and the protagonist

My thoughts.

My guess is that this is the story creation of the Face of Boe Here is my reasoning. Back in Season 3 when Jack exploded the bit of his blood that was in the vile was taken and drawn to the blessing. the rest of it regenerated into the Jack that we know now. the part that the blessing has was taken to the center of the earth and generated a morphic field (which is causing the miracle) inside the field the blessing is trying to regenerate Jack from what it has. it is this part that might be creating the Face of Boe... or at least that is what I am thinking. and i think it works rather well *even if it does not end up being the case.

OMFG if true and which makes sense that would be so awesome and finally would make sense of everything about this season but didn't Jack say in this feature or time he gets killed supposedly as in he has seen the outcome of what was going to happen to himself? The timeline between Doctor Who and Torchwood is kind of getting messy here now and how is it that the Doctor could not figure what was happening to Jack but the Blessing or the people who figured out the way of the miracle (sort of) are they aliens? Another thing is wasn't the reason Jack could never die because of Rose opening up the Tardis that regenerates the Doctor and for some reason he also got regenerate but not the same way as the Doctor does? But as you said about the FOB it makes so much sense.

Remember, the Doctor is a genius and all that, but he doesn't know EVERYTHING. He thinks he does, or at least wants everyone to think he does. But he doesn't :p

Also, I don't think the time vortex itself is how the Doctor (or the Time Lords in general) regenerates. I just think his species evolved the ability over time (heh) as a way to cheat death more or less. Plus, as the Doctor explained it, what Rose did was more or less make Jack a fixed point in time (that shouldn't exist) and thus immortal. But as I said, the Doctor doesn't know everything. He can't know what is going to happen to Jack 5 million years from that point, let alone 5 billion years later. If Jack does indeed turn into the Face of Boe at some point, how is it he can use his remaining life energy to power the systems of that underground car system thingie in that traffic episode (it's 1 am, I don't remember the name sorry lol) and die from that, but the Doctor says he's just immortal and can never die etc.

But then again, it's Doctor Who. Expect things to change and retcons to show up from time to time (pun intended).

Always loved this show was glad to ehar it was back on telle when my friend mentioned it on fb as said jack is into everything men, women and aliens (swear he was flirting with one in a doctor who) the show has been good but this series has me a little bored with the same thing over and over again i preferred it when it was different things every week as it does not drag on and on and on (yep thats the population rising) with no real success. Didnt really like it how that woman got axed either in the furnace with nothing really happening but oh well not much i can do be interesting to see whats going to happen now near end...

Having watched all of them now, I'm really not sure if I liked it much as a whole, it really did feel like they tried to stretch what should have been a shorter, maybe 5 episode series into 10.

It was all a bit disappointing in the end, and RT Davies seems to like messing with his own continuity.

OMG did the Doctor show up??!?!

No, lol, we would have known long beforehand if he was going to.

7 Episodes of nothing really.... and then a big rock crack thing. Well it's been a productive season... @___@. Honestly, they need to give a lot more away earlier in the season, and make it more complex for it to be worthwhile. Also, Rex is not a good character at all - and I'm not sure whether he was over / under acting or he'd been told to act like that, but it really didn't work very well.

It should've been shorter I agree, but I think after this, which was basically one big setup for the rest of the series going forward, aka, the whole stuff with the 3 families and so on. If/when they plan out a season 5 I bet they'll go back to the setup for a longer series (though this depends on the ratings etc). What I mean is that I think next season we'll see a few smaller self-contained arcs with a bigger overarching plot with hints dropped in each mini-arc so they can better fill out more episodes.

Otherwise, they should do shorter ones, around 6 eps I'd say.

What a ridiculous non-explanation ending with a typical yank cliffhanger. With the ratings i dont think this show is going to get renewed and we are going to be left hanging.

Why cant they end a show in a way that leaves it open but if it doesnt get another season then there is a satisfying ending.
