ady199
Does anyone know of a free proxy server I could use - I seem to be having problems downloading from Rapidshare and I want to go through a proxy to see if its a problem with my ISP. Thanks in advance. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/608800-does-anyone-know-of-a-working-free-proxy-server/ Share on other sites
Brian M. Veteran Posted December 26, 2007 Veteran Share Posted December 26, 2007 What problems are you having? I don't think rapidshare would be connection/IP dependant. ehlo
I know that Rapidshare has problems with my ISP because it detects the anonymous proxy and not my actual IP. You can try some proxies from www.xroxy.com Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/608800-does-anyone-know-of-a-working-free-proxy-server/#findComment-589088925 Share on other sites

I?ve also heard of caching proxy?s messing things up:wacko:cko: Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/608800-does-anyone-know-of-a-working-free-proxy-server/#findComment-589088933 Share on other sites
ehlo
Oops, I meant transparent proxy myself. Just noticed you're also in the UK. I'm on BT and there are some known problems with Rapidshare (search DSLreports for details) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/608800-does-anyone-know-of-a-working-free-proxy-server/#findComment-589089317 Share on other sites

Colin-uk Veteran Posted December 27, 2007 Veteran Share Posted December 27, 2007 I know rapidshare track your download limit by ip address. thats why people with a transparent proxy can only download through a proxy or with a premium account. (I used to have one myself, but they've removed them now). what ISP do you use? do you know if it uses a transparent proxy?
