I got a hold of some pc4000 DDR1 (1gb === 512 x 2)

Just for the heck of it, I'd like to throw together a system.

What's gonna be the best DDR1 motherboard? Don't care about price.

Gimmy Intel or AMD :)

I mean THE best, right when DDR2 was introduced, it's gotta be that very last MOBO that came out, well you get the point. Thanks.

Ever think about getting a MB that supports both DDR 1 and 2? That way you could upgrade when you wanted.

i totally forgot there wereboards like that. could you point me out a very super hawt mobo that does support both? not that it's for me... but i guess it would be a waste to buy a board that i couldn't upgrade the mem once the cash came flowing in. yes, that does sound like the best thing to do! yes, very nice indeed!

I know that there are some motherboards out there that support DDR1 and have a PCI-E slot instead of AGP which should reduce the cost of getting a decent graphics card if you wanted one in this system. It is sad that people call these the "good old days" but yet I still have DDR400 :blush:
