Installing vista without a product key

Question

Hi guys, I have a friend who want to try windows vista before buying it (in case if it works well on his pc or not), asked me to give him my retail DVD copy of windows vista home premium to install it on his pc without the product key!!, as he will be able to use vista for 15days? (as he told me).. Later on, if it works well, he will be buying the box and install the key that he will get to fully activate vista.

Well guys is this possible? Will he be having updates for the OS with no problems? Any risk with that for my copy if I DONT give him the product key??

And thank you inadvance.

If it is illegial to run Vista without a product key, then why do MS allow us to install and run Vista without a product key. You got 30 days (or 120 days if you know how to use rearm which is inside Vista) before you have to enter the product key.

Vista is not shareware, hence there is no free trial of it.

That VHD is for corporate evaluation of Windows Vista, which is allowed for 30 days, providing you use that pre-configured virtual image, and it is only run within a virtualisation environment. The 30 (or more if you rearm) days is for activation only. Installing Vista without owning a valid license, either to a physical hard disk or a virtual one, is illegal and considered to be warez.
