With the help of friends and family I have decided to officially quit smoking for goo this time around and decided that 2008 was the time to go completely smoke free. I've just come back from the States and it's freezing over their, you cannot smoke in bars over there, or smoke in pubs here in the UK. I'm sick and tired of freezing my backside off, so I decided to quit for good. I have to stop smoking anyway because I'm in hospital on Wednesday for a minor op, so I have to stop anyway and will not be able to smoke at all for at least a month, so I decided to quit for good.

Wish me luck, I need it.

I wish you luck, although you really need willpower.

I wish my G/F would stop, although she only smokes when we have a drink.

Yeah I stopped that as well, I have never been a drinker anyway. I'm the sort who will drink two or three and that's it done. But when your drinking it's a known fact that alcohol intensifies smoking, so I stopped that as well. Just think of the money I'm saving. My misses is a nurse and she's been nagging for years to give it up.

grats on deciding to quit :) its hard... so if your not strong willed go for the aids that u can buy/get you wont regret the money u will save and how better you feel esp in the mornings :p ive been quit over 6 yrs now and neva looked back the way i quit was cold turkey no aids/nicorette or anything just me stayed in playing computergames/keeping my mind off it for a weekend... so i guess im strong willed :p just wish i could put that to other use :p but grats on deciding to stop and good luck

    • No. The file manager is a lost cause. After all, its dev receives all the undeserved praise he could evre wish from Neowin, without having actually earned it. This has never lead to improvements.

    • I know I won't ever be using it to make my game. I'd rather pay humans.
    • Nah. For every indie dev that needs to create code for "stuff" or textures, it's a godsend enabler to possibly tackle a project that you may not otherwise. The end result and testing will tell the truth if everything works or doesn't, or a game is just mediocre slop, but now these tools are now there and it's the developer's duty to judge the outcome, and even more so for pro studios. And you gotta remember that they will be at an early stage.
