Ayepecks
It looks neat for gaming, but it's a little overkill, IMO... I'm fine with my 19" @ 1440 x 900. Noveed
Wow Just wow, i would love to have one, but i know it would come with a hefty price tag, alienware allways are too expensive Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/611888-alienware-shows-crysis-at-2880-x-900/page/2/#findComment-589119356 Share on other sites
Churma
After seeing this thing in person, the only thing I don't get is why does it have a back going back 8 inches... its a lot deeper then any normal LCD out there The back is thick because this is a RPTV It is DLP. Horrable. Enjoy the color wheel. Stick with a 30" Dell panel setup. Boz
Guys, it's 2 or 3 monitors connected in one housing running multi-screen adapter from Matrox. The only advancement here is that they've designed the house to hold those monitors together with no bezel. http://www.matrox.com/graphics/surroundgaming/en/home/ http://www.matrox.com/graphics/surroundgam...d/crysis/#close Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/611888-alienware-shows-crysis-at-2880-x-900/page/2/#findComment-589119380 Share on other sites

PENGUINwithM4A1
Waitor, yes I would like three 8800 Ultras with that please. Why is the back so big? The matrox 3head box isnt iirc. Thats exactly why this monitor fails, its freaking huge in the back and it isn't worth the price of what it will cost. (I'd guess probably $2,500 US or more. Luis.A
I for one like it. Seems it could benefit gamers and people who are serious about having a productive computing environment. Smigit
Seems relatively useless for games...I can't see many having that resolution and it's not exactly future proof hardware wise as every 6 month the latest game will kill whatever hardware is in there if you want to run native. I'd much rather a more standard ratio supplied by a 30" if I had to use a stupidly oversized display. If anything it's a display suited to desktop use if you ask me as an alternative to dual displays. rr_dRock
The only things that i could see a screen this size being used for would be say, for security, so you can view multiple cameras on one screen at a decent size. Or for massive gaming tournaments such as the $1mil halo tournament, just as a gimmick, or a prize or what have you. I'm hoping this will have a TV tuner, and a DVD player built in and such, .... because for that size, and the price it will undoubtedly be, its really quite ridiculous for gaming on... i dont like seeing nothing but the screen when i'm playing..... ATLien_0
for this to work though like with most games wouldnt the games have to be made for widescreen, as is some multiplayers dont support true widescreen they just stretch so you dont get an upper hand Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/611888-alienware-shows-crysis-at-2880-x-900/page/2/#findComment-589122680 Share on other sites

EnzoFX
its like 4 panels, and you can see lines in between! anyways, alienware states that they'll clean that up by the time this releases at the end of this year. you shouldn't assume its 1 curved screen Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/611888-alienware-shows-crysis-at-2880-x-900/page/2/#findComment-589126343 Share on other sites

iKap
umm it's not a dual monitor, it's just 1 monitor made in a curve as you can see. Lol couldn't have said it any better then that. But yeah that thing looks pretty raw, wish that was out back in the good old Counter-Strike 1.3 days lol. BlackSteyrAug
I'll wait until their out of prototype, fix the seems, released by another company because Alienware overcharge everything, and a smaller back. For now I'll settle for a TV screen?
