Crysis V1.1 Patch out now (PC)

Recommended Posts

I can't tell for sure, since i didn't bother benching or anything.

But performance wise, 1.0 XP still seems faster than 1.1 Vista with the same settings on my Computer.

:/

It's a new OS with more features. On the same hardware, of course Vista will perform a little slower than XP. It's the same with most software, especially operating systems.

No.

I was getting 10+ FPS more on XP than Vista.

So all i was saying is, that 15% performance boost is nowhere to be found on my PC.

Does anybody find that the new motion blur setting doesn't save?

I still have to add "r_motionblur=0" to the system.cfg file for it to show as "Off" in the new GUI option, otherwise it says "Custom". If I change it to "Off" in the GUI, go to another GUI screen, then go back to advanced graphics it says "Custom".

Steve.

the patch installed just fine, but something weird happened. it messed up my save games and actually advanced me further into the game. i lost my latest save, and gained 2 save points further in the game. so b/c i didnt want to miss out and advance too far, i started w/ the save point closest to where i thought i saved last. well i know i skipped some stuff in the game now, but just kept on playing.

that brings me to the next point. the patch didnt increase my performance at all... in fact, i got into a big fire fight and the game became a slideshow... completely unplayable. im going to have to dumb down my settings even more now.

see sig: using Vista, 1.1 patch, 12x10 w/ a mix of Medium and High settings, no AA. awful performance. latest nvidia drivers too.

    • Absolutely NOBODY has suggested such a conclusion. I am affirming the sober reality check that AV2's overall market adoption will take longer than AV1's adoption rate -- which, by the way, is the whole point of the article! While PCI-SIG is productive (on paper), other WGs have created all sorts of confusing progress plans that consumers have tuned-out of their improvements... HTML/W3C, USB, HDMI, BT, WIFI (ieee802.11) as a few other groups where spec naming conventions, split progress paths, overlapping ambitions... I'm not critiquing the AV specs group; I'm simply affirming that adoption for AV2 faces headwinds beyond the macroeconomics of it all.

    • No thanks! WebView trash is unacceptable. I only use software that's native.
