Miuku. Posted January 11, 2008 Share Posted January 11, 2008 Much like other modern operating systems, OSX swaps unused pages to the disk. This is normal behaviour and the fact that you're seeing swap file usage is nothing to be alarmed over. Windows does exactly the same although it has pretty pathetic memory management compared to most Unix variants. Miuku. Posted January 11, 2008 Share Posted January 11, 2008 Well the reality with modern software and modern computers, no matter what OS - is that you really, really want lots of memory. The more the merrier :) And it's realy, really cheap nowadays! Adding a gigabyte would most definitely speed up everything.
