Sam Symons Veteran Posted January 17, 2008 Veteran Share Posted January 17, 2008 I have two routers here. One's not wireless and the other one is. The non-wireless one is a D-Link DSL-302G, and the wireless one is a D-Link DSL-G604T. Whenever I enter my ISP's info into the non-wireless one, everything works fine and I can use the internet just dandy. But when I connect up the wireless one, I go through the Network Setup Wizard and enter the same info, and it won't connect. The problem is, it used to work. When I was first setting it up, I rang my ISP and they told me what to do (which is the same as I'm doing now, as far as I can remember) and it worked. I stopped using it for a while for some reason, and now I wanna use it again, and it won't work =\ Any ideas? +BudMan MVC Posted January 17, 2008 MVC Share Posted January 17, 2008 If you connect a new router to your modem, you need to reboot your modem after you connect the new router. Oh, believe me, I've rebooted this thing all the way to Hades. It reboots after I enter my info. +BudMan MVC Posted January 17, 2008 MVC Share Posted January 17, 2008 Sorry I read your post a bit too quick.. You do not have routers.. You have GATEWAY devices.. ie modem/router combo's You will need to contact your ISP on how to register a new modem on their network.. Quite often its as simple as hitting a specific website. To change out routers connected to a Modem.. you need to reboot the "modem" to see the new device.. Your changing the MODEM talking to your ISP.. You most likely have to register it with them. Sam Symons Veteran Posted January 17, 2008 Author Veteran Share Posted January 17, 2008 Don't worry about it. I'm pretty sure the thing's faulty...a very large amount of people have had the same problem and it turns out my particular router has been discontinued. Thanks anyway Budman =) Off to the shops.
