vsftpd + mysql + pam - how would i...?

seeing as i have chosen MySQL for all my database needs, and i have vsftpd running on my pc, i don't really wish to have accounts on the pc just for ftp, could someone point in the right direction of how i could get the setup in the topic going ?

Yes i know i could use pureftpd or proftpd (rather not on that one as its secuirty isnt that great)

There's a pam_mysql module, use it for authentication. Just read the man page, should be pretty straight forward.
