J.J. Abrams' Star Trek

Recommended Posts

I'm a big fan of Harlan Ellison, who originally wrote "The City on The Edge of Forever" and a friend told me he isn't pleased that his intellectual property is being used without his permission. Should be interesting. He successfully sued James Cameron for using a story of hi called "Soldier" to make the Terminator series. Regardless, I do look forward to checking it out.

The pics are nice, but, IMHO, not 'amazing'. They ruined the Trek Franchise by doing Enterprise - a prequel - and they will will completely obliterate it, and crush it into the ground with this movie.

I'll watch it, because I'm a Trek fan. But I'll be weeping inside, as I'll be there with maybe two other ppl on opening day.

The first teaser trailer will debut in theaters with Cloverfield on Friday, January 18, 2008.[73] The teaser will then debut online on Monday, January 21, 2008. An official promotional site for the film is also scheduled to launch around that time and will be linked at StarTrek.com.[74]

The official site for the film launched on January 16, 2008. It introduced the film's new official logo and is located at Paramount.com/StarTrek.

They made a few design changes to the ship...knew right away they would change something. But its not to bad I guess. Just wonder what they will change to the Star Trek Universe...and Allan is right...they could end up ruining Star Trek more than it already is due to Enterprise. Guess they figure if it didn't work once, its bound to work a second time...but I will see it, with an open mind, and hope for the best. Maybe it will be good enough to bring Star Trek back to life...

i do have to say that it looks much better in theaters. you can see much much more.

but i have mixed feelings about it. part of me likes how so far it looks dark. definite change from what star trek normally is and i think its a good change. the other part of me is worried that they ruined the original designs. from what we have seen, it looks like the enterprise is somewhat out of proportion to how the original looked. however we have not seen the entire ship so you never know, it may look great. i am very excited for this movie.

    • Dead by Daylight, Two Point Museum, and more join Xbox Free Play Days for the weekend by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe There is a brand-new Free Play Days offer available to Xbox players, giving them a chance to try out a new selection of games over the weekend. Microsoft's latest promotion brings some high-profile titles, including the sports title PGA TOUR 2K25 and the racing sim Assetto Corsa. Almost all the games being offered this time require an Xbox Game Pass subscription, with only one title being available for all players. Starting with the fully free-to-play section, Dead by Daylight is populating it solo. This asymmetric survival horror title should be the most familiar to most gamers, considering its age. The multiplayer four-versus-one asymmetric survival horror game has you assuming the roles of survivors or the killer to see who can come out on top. This Dead by Daylight offer will be available to play until Monday, June 22, giving you an extra day of play compared to the remainder of the Free Play Days titles. Meanwhile, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential members can now try out the well-received tycoon game Two Point Museum, the circuit racing sim Assetto Corsa, as well as 2K's golf sim experience that gives players a career to develop alongside real-world pros and courses. Here are the announced games and the platforms they are available to play on: PGA TOUR 2K25 (Xbox Series X|S) Two Point Museum (Xbox Series X|S) Assetto Corsa (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One) Dead by Daylight (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One) To easily find the titles on Xbox consoles, first head to the Store, and then in the sidebar, find the Home section. In there, open the Subscriptions tab. All the games from the Free Play Days collection will show up in this section for quick access. Apart from Dead by Daylight's offer, this week's Free Play Days promotions will end on Sunday, June 21, at 11:59 pm PT.
