J.J. Abrams' Star Trek

Recommended Posts

I am too young (19) to have seen any of the previous Star Trek stuff so I didn't know about this movie. I just figured I wouldn't know what is going on. I watched the movie and was pleasantly surprised, it was pretty good without getting too deep into the Trek world.

Seeing Quinto in something other than his Heroes role was cool too.

too young?!

i'm only 24 and iv seen pretty much all star trek episodes and movies

go get renting! :)

Should have waited to release Star Trek or Terminator since we have no July 4th weekend blockbuster this year coming out.

they'll make their money. people focus too much on a movie being #1 at all times. as longa s they are posting strong numbers in 2 and 3 slots then they'll be fine for the future

Remember when George Lucas hid E.T. creatures in Star Wars: Episode I? Well apparently JJ Abrams did the same kind of thing in Star Trek, hiding the robot R2-D2 from Star Wars in one of the scenes (yes, the photo above is an obvious photoshop). I watched the film twice and definitely didn?t notice the little droid anywhere, so it must be a really obscure easter egg. I also haven?t seen any mention of the ?cameo appearance? made anywhere online.

But Paramount Pictures has announced a contest, giving away an official prop from the film to one of the people who actually spotted the beeping droid. What scene in the new film Star Trek features the robot ?R2-D2″ from Star Wars? Email your answer to [email protected] with ?STAR TREK Easter Egg Sweepstakes? in the subject line. Full rules are listed on Facebook.

See guys, I told you it would be close.

Angels & Demons did $48 million and Star Trek did $43 million this weekend.

It doesn't really matter. At this point, both are going to make their money back. Unless I'm mistaken, Angels and Demon cost somewhere between 100-125 million to make and the worldwide figures already hit 100 million, which means sales from rentals and dvds will give profit. It's the same with Star Trek. It was a 150 million film, half of the money was already made back during it's opening weekend. Right now, it'll probably make it's money back simply being in theaters and everything else afterwards is profit, which is a good sign. That's probably why the sequel is already greenlit, it's a cash cow.

The Star Trek Easter Egg Sweepstakes is US-only:

2. • Forza Horizon 6 gets another hotfix for one of the game's online modes by Taras Buria Recently, Forza Horizon 6 players discovered an interesting glitch that allowed farming a crazy amount of in-game credits in a few minutes. Playground Games quickly pulled the plug on the exploit by disabling one of the game's online modes, and today, the studio is rolling out another hotfix. In my review, I complained about the game still showering gamers with cars, credits, and wheelspins. As such, earning money in Forza Horizon 6 is not a particularly difficult task. You simply have to play the game, crazy, I know. However, people still found an easier path to becoming a billionaire in Forza Horizon 6. All you had to do was purchase the Hummer EV, install a specific tune, shift in reverse while going at about 15 MPH, hit a wall, and get launched into the stratosphere at the speed of light. While mid-air, launch Eliminator and quickly get eliminated. Boom, the game just awarded you with a few million in-game credits. Initially, Playground Games disabled Eliminator to prevent people from farming credits. Now, following the release of the first balancing update, developers are rolling out a new update that re-enables Eliminator and gives users a free McLaren Sabre as a gesture of goodwill. Here is the changelog: One critical issue remains unpatched, though. There are quite a few reports of the game wiping gamers' saves, and developers are still looking into that. To avoid potential data loss, Playground Games recommends taking one of the steps outlined in a previously published support article.
