I've never watched the Star Trek movies and only one Star Wars movie. After watching this movie on Blu Ray for the first time, I must conclude the following. Live action science fiction seems to love cheese. Cheesy one liners, cheesy villains, cheesy love interests and cheesy moons?

Apart from the cheese, it's a well produced movie seems to match the critical acclaim it has received. The director made some fantastic choices and some of the scenes were breathtaking. Finally, a movie that makes me not feel like I wasted more than an hour and a half.

Note to future sequels: Do not try to put it unnecessarily sexed up women with fake eyelashes and short dresses to garner attention. It's lame. That type of "sex factor" should just be sidelined to horrible movies like Transformers. Also try to at least make a decent segue to a random scene packed with out of place sexual tension... Like a woman randomly jumping into an elevator and trying to make out with an emotionally wrecked man.

I hate:

shun the non believer

The non beliver obviously never watched ANY Star Trek, let alone the movies or he would of known thats er, kinda what Uhura's eyelashes are like and the short skirts, yeah, thats the Uniform mate...welcome to Star Trek, now jog on.

(I also got annoyed he called Transformers 'horrible' but let's not get into that right now)

I watched this again on Blu-Ray a few weeks back and I just wanted to cry with joy again...and when I saw the Orion girl (come on, u all know she does it for you too) in her kinkies, I was like...mmmm...still haven't found R2-D2 though :(

"In the old days, operations officers wore red. Command officers wore gold-"

"...and the women wore less."

"I think I'm going to like history..."

If you had watched any of the old Star Trek shows, you would have seen they were paying homage to it with all the cheese and with the sexed up women. The old shows can be hilarious at times.

Whoa. I didn't think that people would be taking offence to what I said. I was simply stating my opinion as a person who never watched the star trek movies. I am sure the homage to its predecessors was almost flawless.

I did not state that I didn't like the movie. I was only criticizing one character whose random sexually charged actions seemed out of place.

It was a great sci fi movie. Its characters were a refreshing change compared to others'.

Don't hate because I can't join your fanboy party. :p

    • Nvidia GeForce NOW gains support for seven more games as discounts continue by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe There's a brand-new update rolling out to Nvidia's GeForce NOW streaming service, and like every week, that means more games have received support on the platform. This week's drop has additions like Aphelion and Pro Cycling Manager 26 attached to it. Don't forget that the GeForce NOW summer sale is still active too. This limited-time offer drops the 12-month Performance membership from $99.99 to $64.99, saving members $35. At the same time, the 12-month Ultimate membership is currently going for $129.99, dropping the price by $70 from the original $199.99. Moreover, Nvidia reiterated that support for GOG single sign-in and game library is incoming this summer, joining stores like Steam, Ubisoft Connect, Battle.net, and Xbox. "Connect supported game store accounts and stream titles with GeForce RTX power. Games that include cloud-save functionality help keep progress intact across devices," added the company. "Start a game on one screen, pick up where playtime left off on another, and spend less time managing installs and storage space." Here are the games joining GeForce NOW's supported list this week: Embers of the Uncrowned Demo (New release on Steam, available 13) Pro Cycling Manager 26 (New release on Steam, available June 15) Aphelion (Steam) Citizen Sleeper (Epic Game Store, Free from June 18-25) Megastore Simulator (Steam) OPERATOR (Steam) Super Meat Boy 3D (Xbox, available on Game Pass) Keep in mind that, unlike subscription services like Game Pass or EA Play, a copy of a game must be owned by the GeForce NOW member (or at least have a license via PC Game Pass) to start playing via Nvidia's cloud servers. There is also a limit to how many hours subscribers can use the service per month, with extra time being purchasable in chunks.
