zzdiesel
You need x64 to use more than 3 gb of ram. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/615917-vista-x64-for-x32-apps/#findComment-589162460 Share on other sites
anarkhy
With 64 bit compiled apps would not be more faster to work with videos and games? Drivers like divx wouldnt work better? I tried installing 32 and 64 versions of vista and the 64 seems to be more responsive. Brandon Live Veteran Posted January 27, 2008 Veteran Share Posted January 27, 2008 There are 64-bit apps out there. Almost any .NET 2.0 (or later) applications will be JIT compiled 64-bit at runtime. Examples of those are Paint .NET, my own Start++, and plenty of others. There are lots of native code 64-bit apps too. SmartFTP has a 64-bit version. Zune 2.0 does as well. I'm sure there are plenty more as well. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/615917-vista-x64-for-x32-apps/#findComment-589166643 Share on other sites

HL2, for instance. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/615917-vista-x64-for-x32-apps/#findComment-589166759 Share on other sites
