New Windows Mobile 6.1 Rom for HTC Titan with GPS! Yes 6.1 not 6.0

Recommended Posts

This is unofficial release of WM6.1 not WM6.0. This is for the HTC Titan aka Sprint Mogul/Verizon 6800 and is 20 to 40% quicker with GPS enabled. It was just released 30 minutes ago. It is so fast it blows away my Universal which is 520MHZ xscale. This is truly awesome.

Please read though the PPCgeeks forum before even attempting. Many people have bricked their phones because they have no clue on how to unlock and flash to different roms.

Thanks No2Chem!!!!

You will get blown away with the speed... If you dare to flash....

this will work with my titan? your sure?....htc p4000.....

im downloading it right now.

Beserk you can't just flash to it without unlocking it with the unlocker and using bootloader 2.40. Read through the forums about upgrading to rom 3.16 before even attempting to flash. If you don't know how to hack your phone with an un official rom don't do it.

Follow the following sites in order

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=9093

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=17219 <download the file

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=9927 <ignore the unlock part

if you follow these steps like i did you should have a functional titan with winmo 6.1, you may need to run the titan relocker at http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=12041

i havnt followed your links yet but i went to this thread.

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=9927

dowloaded the unlocker.

then download the RUU, and i already have the rom posted here.

ill make sure to read your links first.

so far this is what i understand...

-use the unlocker.

-open the ruu, and select the rom

-flash

-hard boot.

EDIT:

THIS IS whats causing confusion, i really new to my phone, and dont know much about the smartphone scene either...and then i see warnings like this, and dont know if im using the right software or not...

New version 2.40 for GPS rom etc.:

ftp://ppcgeeks:[email protected]/...ard-SPL-MFG.exe

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: This unlocker will ONLY work for updates with GPS enabled radio's and roms. However, this update for the unlocker is required for and GPS enabled custom roms. Old and new SPL/roms are not mix and match.

who wants to walk me through it on msn?

Edited by Berserk87

ignore that :) its covered in one of the other links

i would recommend holding off my device is stuck in a reboot loop, i think there is a scheduled update from htc in the next few weeks which should include this

Quick question,

Would it work on the HTC Touch?

it would not work for the touch as it is a different phone

This specific version is not on the Touch but No2Chem has ported a version over for the Touch - http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=17301

I have flashed it with his "Clean" rom and I can tell you the device runs 10x faster but doesn't hardly have anything installed.

Should I wait for HTC to release it for my mogul/titan or do it now!?

That might be a while.

It is very easy. I used to flash my 8125 quite often but that was easy as opening a program. It is a little more advanced and it took me a few hours to play with it but it didn't take to long. There is also a stock sprint rom floating around that will take it back to stock and re-lock it.

I can help if needed (with my little experience). Just let me know what questions you have.

i got it working on my titan works pretty smooth

6.1 offers more enterprise support

threaded text messages (like on palm/acts like a IM)

6.1 on the titan also enabled evdo revA as well as built in gps support :)

it can be quite a pain to install (have been working with Berserk87 for 2 days now) so this isnt recommended for anyone who is new to flashing their pocket pc with unofficial roms

i just helped someone do it in less then an hour

its really easy 'we' just kept missing some steps. :D

    • TCL's Bang & Olufsen soundbar is 40% off on Amazon by Ivan Jenic The TCL Design Series A65K is currently $299.99, down from $499.99. That's 40% off and $200 saved on a soundbar tuned by Bang & Olufsen, which is not a combination you'd normally expect at this price point (purchase link below). Bang & Olufsen doesn't typically show up in the sub-$500 category. The Danish audio brand is known for speakers that cost several times more, so having their acoustic tuning on a $300 soundbar is very appealing. TCL handles the hardware, B&O handles the sound engineering, and the result is what the company calls "accessible luxury." Still, accessible luxury isn’t full-fledged luxury, so don’t expect wonders. But this is a decent soundbar, nevertheless. The A65K is a true 3.1.2 channel system with nine physical drivers, including genuine up-firing height speakers for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Many soundbars at this price simulate overhead effects through virtual processing, rather than actual hardware. So, you’re getting the real deal. The design is unusually slim for a system with Atmos compatibility. The bar is just under 2 inches deep and should fit beneath most TV screens. The wireless subwoofer is also compact at roughly 14 x 14 x 5 inches. Total output is 460W, and you can connect to the soundbar via HDMI eARC, Bluetooth 5.3, or USB. There are also eight sound modes through the TCL Home app and an AI calibration capability. Although it’s worth mentioning that AI capabilities in most of these devices are inconsistent, to say the least, and that shouldn’t be the biggest selling point. Still, at $299.99, the A65K is a strong buy for anyone who wants a soundbar that sounds and looks noticeably better than what this price range usually offers. And the Bang & Olufsen branding surely sounds nice - pun intended. • And he paid Joe Rogan $30M for podcasts. Terrible company.
    • I sure hope the AI does not give out wrong info during education
    • That is $130 more than I paid for my 4TB a year ago. How is this a deal?
