Hi,

I wanted to change my SSID on my Wireless Router/Modem.

I don't remember my Username nor Password to log on, I've tried admin / admin - that has failed.

Do I need to get the Software, if so, where can I find it for the Siemens SpeedStream 6520.

I'm currently on the phone with my ISP, as the modem was offered by them, Tech Agent doesn't seem confident so far.

Thanks in advance.

Can't you just reset the modem so the password will become admin/admin?

Do people not even know what google or yahoo or freaking microsofts live search is??? You might want to suggest that to their tech support ;) Or how about just looking on the makers FAQ site ;)

6520 Modem

1. Turn the modem on. Wait until the modem has stopped booting up and the power light goes solid green.

2. Insert a small tipped object (pen tip or a pin will do) into the hole at the bottom of the modem labelled ‘reset’. You may need to hold this in for a couple of seconds before the reset is initiated. You will know when to let go of the reset hole when the power light starts blinking red/green. Remove the small tipped object. All the lights on the front on the modem should flash green and then red then the modem should start to boot as per normal.

3. Once the power light is on solid the modem should be restored to factory defaults.

Speedstream 6520 reset problems

The secret is to NOT wait for the lights to stop flashing

Hold the reset in until the power light starts flashing

While it is still flashing, let go of the reset switch

When you say, reset - are your referring to just simply turning the modem off then back on?

Because my Modem/Router does not have a "Reset" button.

Thanks.

Like everybody else has said, what I forgot to tell you when resetting it is look for a small pinhole area and press it with a paperclip and hold for about 20 seconds.

I can't believe why a representative isn't able to help you, isn't that like entry level questions?

    • Brave Browser 1.91.168 by Razvan Serea Brave Browser is a lightning-fast, secure web browser that stands out from the competition with its focus on privacy, security, and speed. With features like HTTPS Everywhere and built-in tracker blocking, Brave keeps your online activities safe from prying eyes. Brave is one of the safest browsers on the market today. It blocks third-party data storage. It protects from browser fingerprinting. And it does all this by default. Speed - Brave is built on Chromium, the same technology that powers Google Chrome, and is optimized for speed, providing a fast and responsive browsing experience. Brave Browser also features Brave Rewards, a system that rewards users with Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) for viewing opt-in ads. This innovative system provides an alternative revenue model for content creators and a way to support the Brave community. SlimBrave Neo takes all the good things about Brave and makes them even better by keeping everything clean, light, and privacy-focused. It removes the extra clutter, turns off features you might not need, and cuts down on anything that could slow you down or collect unnecessary data. Because it relies on simple settings and policies instead of modifying the browser itself, you still get full Brave compatibility—just in a smoother, lighter, and more privacy-friendly package. • Thanks Microsoft but no, I find both iterations of Outlook terrible nowadays and switched back to Thunderbird at home.
    • Happens to the best of us, bro. 😛
    • Thanks to some of the other recent Windows improvements, I'm optimistic about this one. My quick wishlist would be: perf like the older menu, merge both menus or at the very least, the older menu should be a flyout, not a simulated click to the old menu, and lastly, a customization window to let users move items from one menu to another, so I could bring Send To back to the main menu, and the OneDrive settings to the older.
