Does anybody remember the name of this movie?

This movie is b&w and is a b-grade sci-fi movie. I cannot remember the plot exactly but you never saw what the monsters looked like. Only shots from their POV. Those shots looked like the camera was looking through a glass bubble from an old diving helmet or something. It can best be described as a fish-eyed lense.

The movie is set in a small town next to a desert. I remember some sort of water tower or structure of that kind near the end of the movie.

The creatures weren't violent exactly. At the end of the movie I think they blasted off back into space.

I remember watching this movie many, many years ago. I know what I said is pretty vague but it is all I can remember. Does anybody know the names of this movie? I have been searching for days.

No. It was made back in the 40s/50s/60s or whenever. And it was b&w.

Been there done that. I cannot remember enough about the movie to get that far sadly. I have gone through wikipedia looking at several lists. I was hoping somebody might remember it.
