KB937287 problem

Tonight when the montly Windows Vista x64 updates started to install I noticed one update that is constantly showing up again and again and it seems it doesnt install. The patch is called KB937287 and I don't have any version of SP1 installed on my computer. Any ideas? :/

I'm having the same problem as well. The first time it installed it it said it failed, so I tried rebooting and tried to install again and it said it was successful. The problem is that it doesn't really install it, it stays in the Windows update list. When I run systeminfo from the command prompt it doesn't show as being install there either.

Thanks for the post. I was having trouble finding the download URL for the update (looked on the kb page but couldn't find it). I will give that a try.

My laptop is in a constant loop because of one of the updates today. i think the last one it updated was this one.

it keeps looping at 3 of 3..and thats it..trying a system restore.

It kept showing up for me too and failed the first time (I'm on Vista Business x64). It's wierd they haven't fixed it yet.

it was in fact kb937287 looping. system restore worked and i went to look at updates. that one says it failed.

i have home premium 32bit. going to go look for a fix for that one.

edit: it worked on my desktop, but not my laptop. wth?

I'm on an x86 machine with Vista Ultimate and I have the update in the list even after attempting to install. Are there any problems with using the x64 patch?

actually nm, i thought i had installed the update the first time through, guess it didn't.

my machines are x86...trying to re-install that update through windows update. they don't have a stand alone install for this update for x86. turned off virus software, firewall, everything..etc...will let you know.

Happened to me twice and the on the third reboot it installed. This is on a dell 1520 laptop with 8600 gpu and vista home premiun 32 bit.

after system restore, i turned off all security software, sidebar,messenger, and about everything i could find, the update installed successfully. i think someone at neowin should put something on the front page about this update creating problems. The problem is noted on other websites.

Thanks, this worked. I noticed however the one that kept trying to install from WU was only 18KB but this around 9.6MB. :p

Nothing except what comes with Vista (defender).

I have Vista Ultimate and I just did a Windows update and I did not have any problems with that particular update (KB937287). I did reboot after install even tho Windows did not prompt me to reboot.
