I always wonder how those people go to sleep at night and what do they tell people when they're asked what their company does...

"well my company makes sub-standard computers - we make it seem like we are building a quality product and lie to the prospective customer - then when they buy from us -- we really screw them."

or do they lie and say

"well we make the best computer on the market at a lower price because we feel everyone should have the best, not just the rich !"

I built a nice one off newegg.com for like 400 total with a great motherboard, 2GB RAM, and a 2.4 dual core AMD 64. It's not that hard. You buy some compatible stuff and put it together lol

well roll your eyes all you want but what he said is correct -- gateway/e-machine (same company) use parts that are inferior and did not pass certain QC tests that "better" companies would not accept.

Basically part123 goes to QC, it passes - ASUS, BFG, MSI all the other "top tier" companies buy those from the perspective manufacturers. then part234 fails, then goes to 2nd-tier companies for less money, giving them the ability to sell that "same" part for lesser money. part345 fails the 2nd tier QC test and then the price drops alot and crap companies like Compaq, e-machine, AS Rock, ECS, all of those "off-brand" companies jump on those and get them dirt cheap , hence enabling Compaq & emachine to sell a new $250 desktop....

so roll your eyes all you want , but thats how this industry works
