youtube.com routes to youtube.com.hk

Did I miss something, this currently seems to be a global issue after asking people all over IRC.

youtube.com is routing to youtube.com.hk, and in some instances the pages are not resolving or route able..

Anyone know anything about this?

I've been trying to get on there for I think at least an hour now, and it just sits there with "connecting to youtube.com" in the status bar.

Weird =/

Edit: After leaving it a minute Minefield's given me: "Network Timeout. The server at youtube.com is taking too long to respond."

I'm surprised youtube would a) go down in ther first place, and b) not be able to get a backup of sorts running fairly soon.

It's apparently a routing issue, so it may be up for you, but not for others.

Try a tracert www.youtube.com and see where it routes.

Weird starting doing a tracert for youtube, it got to 28 hops then the page finally loaded (after refreshing it).

So yeah, its back up here too

the fact that it came back at almost dead-on 1PM PST makes me think there was some kind of maintenance or repair work being done... but it's strange that it wouldn't be announced.

One of the guys on IRC was just saying this

"now, pakistan telecom (as 17557) was saying that they were responsible for routing 208.65.153.0/24

so people started routing through them"
