Alice('s Adventures) in Wonderland (2010)

They're going to ruin it.

The only person I'd love to see write a script and direct a movie adaptation to Alice in Wonderland is American McGee. His vision for that story was absolutely brilliant, although a bit psychotic. But that's why we love him.

^ Agree'd, the game itself wasn't that good. However the story and atmosphere were very well done

I'd love to see American McGee's Alice done as a film.....

I believe he was supposed to be doing a Wizard of Oz game too :ermm:

Crispin Joins Alice!

crispinalice.jpg

If I were to create a list of five people that should be in Tim Burton?s 3D adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, Crispin Glover would probably top the list. So it comes as no surprise that Burton has cast Glover to play the Knave of Hearts.

In the original Lewis Carroll book Alice?s Adventures in Wonderland, the Knave of Hearts is put on trial for robbery after he supposedly stole the Queen of Harts? tarts ?and took them quite away?. Alice eventually defends him after the evidence becomes more and more absurd.

This will be the second time that Glover uses Performance-capture technology in a big screen role, as he played Grendel in Robert Zemeckis? 2007 film Beowulf. Clover joins Mia Wasikowska (Alice), Johnny Depp (Mad Hatter), Matt Lucas (Tweedledee/Tweedledum), Anne Hathaway (The White Queen) and Helena Bonham Carter (The Red Queen).

Back in September, we posted the first set photos of Mia Wasikowska as Alice in Tim Burton?s Alice in Wonderland. I noticed that the camera filming Wasikowska didn?t appear to be a 3D rig. At the time I wrote it off as possibly being one of the non-3D scenes from the start of the film, before Alice enters Wonderland.

MarketSaw is now reporting that Tim Burton is not shooting any scenes from the film using 3D cameras. I?m not sure how much of the production will be shot using performance capture, but if they are filming on practical sets, I don?t understand why Burton would shoot in 2D. Some would argue that converting to 3D in post production gives you a lot more control over the depth and look of the 3D. But it is generally an expensive and exhausting process to convert live-action 2D to 3D, which leads me to believe that much of Alice is probably being shot on a green screen stages.

Tim Burton?s Alice in Wonderland Gets IMAX 3D Release

Disney also announced today that Tim Burton?s Alice in Wonderland will also be released in IMAX 3D on March 5, 2010. Read the full press release after the jump.

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and IMAX Corporation today announced that Alice in Wonderland, directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen and Mia Wasikowska as Alice, will be released to IMAX? theaters simultaneously with the film?s wide release on March 5, 2010. The special IMAX? 3D release will be digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience? with IMAX DMR? (Digital Re-Mastering) technology. This is the third film confirmed out of the five-film agreement between IMAX and Disney, which was announced on November 19, 2008.

Commenting on the announcement, Mark Zoradi, president, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Group, said, ?If ever there was a film that cried out to be presented in Disney Digital 3D and the premium IMAX 3D format, Tim Burton?s fantastic interpretation of ?Alice in Wonderland? is that film. This is going to be an eye-popping cinematic experience as Tim takes moviegoers down the rabbit hole and into the dimensional world filled with incredible characters, sly humor, and wild adventures. Disney?s partnership with IMAX is taking shape with two amazing films already on the schedule. We look forward to working with them in bringing exciting new experiences and quality entertainment to IMAX screens around the world.?

?We think that Disney?s new ?Alice in Wonderland? is exactly the type of 3D story telling that will resonate with IMAX audiences,? said IMAX Co-Chairmen and Co-CEOs Richard L. Gelfond and Bradley J. Wechsler. ?We believe our worldwide commercial theatre network will be approximately 50 percent larger by the time this film is released, giving more and more people a chance to experience the magic of Disney in IMAX.?

??Alice in Wonderland? is a fantastic addition to our 2010 film slate,? added Greg Foster, Chairman and President of IMAX Filmed Entertainment. ?Combining a beloved Disney classic re-designed through the imagination of Tim Burton?s creative vision with these incredibly outrageous characters and world class actors certainly makes for an event-status film, and we?re pleased to add another level of excitement to this highly-anticipated movie.?

Visionary filmmaker Tim Burton will put his distinctive touch on the combination live-action and performance capture version of Lewis Carroll?s classic tale ?Alice in Wonderland.? The all-star cast includes Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Crispin Glover, Alan Rickman and Mia Wasikowska as Alice.

    • I always thought the moon gets a lot of impact because there’s no atmosphere, so surely building a moon base is only going to end in disaster?

    • This piece of ###### is probably one of the most hated apps that ever existed.
    • Microsoft is bringing a much-needed Recap app to Teams, here is a first look by Usama Jawad Microsoft Teams is heavily used in work and school environments, and perhaps one of its core but extremely useful features is the ability to record meetings. In past years, Microsoft has further improved upon this functionality by integrating AI, but you do need a Microsoft 365 Copilot license to leverage most, if not all, all of those capabilities. Now, the Redmond tech firm is making another significant enhancement in the area of Teams meeting recordings. Up until now, if you wanted to access Teams recordings, you had to arduously locate the meeting invite and navigate to the dedicated tab, or go to the cloud storage location such as a SharePoint site. This was a rather overwhelming activity, especially if you don't remember the name of the meeting or the meeting occurred quite a while ago. Microsoft is now attempting to solve this problem through a dedicated Recap app that consolidates all your recordings. This centralized experience will allow users to find all recordings from the past 30 days and also offer access to other related services such as transcripts and AI-powered summaries. Customers will have the option to search for recordings, filter them, and review multiple meetings by generating AI-powered podcast-style recaps. The Recap app will list all available recordings in both thumbnail and list views. The former is shown below: And here is how Teams users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license can select multiple recordings to generate a podcast-style audio recap: Microsoft has emphasized that the Recap app is pre-installed in Teams but it will not be pinned by default. Users will able to navigate to the Teams app store from the left rail, and pin it from the apps section. It will be enabled by default for all users once it becomes available. It's worth noting that while Teams recordings and transcripts can be accessed by all users governed by existing permissions, AI-powered features like intelligent summaries, audio recaps, and video recaps will require a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. The Recap app will be generally available to Teams users on Windows, Mac, and the web by the end of next month, with mobile support coming soon.
