[Official] Grand Theft Auto IV

They can't, the official embargo ends on the 27th, so they aren't allowed to show anything before that.

And i doubt a big site like GT wouldn't honor an embargo.

Fair enough, seems it's up to us peons to brake that embargo :p

if the monday delivery contract is true, Game sure are preparing early as my copy is classed as picked + packaged and awaiting shipping and i have been charged for it so lets hope they ignore the monday delivery :p

When did you Pre-order? Mine was pre-ordered last August and it is still shown as such and no monies taken from my account :( I did get the mail the other day about they might take the money early though.

There's always the chance of the PS3 getting custom sounds if R* patch it in - Like the Burnout guys did.

Surprisingly custom sounds isn't high on my list, just because GTA4 will have a ton of stuff anyway :p

Listening to the jokes on the radio never gets old in GTA

As for online, GTA4 will be a title you'll be playing for a looong time, so be prepared to buy a lengthy subscription ;)

Truly, I don't think GTA 4 online will be as ground breaking as CoD4's online component. It will be good, but ultimately in the end, I think it will die down rather quickly and people will want to play single player.

Of course, I could be wrong.

But the 360 is the clear choice just because of the DLC. Each DLC will be a city (about the size of GTA 3) on its own...I guess that outweighs the $60/yr to play online in my books.

hey dev, you don't happen to go by the name dev in TF2 do you?

you got a source?

That rumour came from a magazine *I think*.

However latest rumour is it's additional missions, characters, ect

Between the Xbox 360 version of the game and the PS3 version, Lazlow admits that he prefers the 360 version thanks to the downloadable content; new missions, new characters, new comedy, etc.

Doesn't confirm anything to do with islands, doesn't deny.

whats going round my mind is Ms paid for 2 exclusive DLC's. R* could easily do some DLC for ps3. for all we know and what is quite likely there will be more than 2 sets of dlc.

I don't think GTAIV MP will be as fluid as COD4, but it's first in the serious, and I know for a fact I'll be playing the hell out of it, till I get all online achievements then, I'll go to SP and focus on that, using MP to take breaks from SP.

With the achievements being to get packages, etc., think the strategy guide will still tell ya where they all are, like they have in past GTA's? I don't really need one, but it's a tradition that me and a deceased friend always did, so I'm going to keep buying them with every GTA game released, but wondering how much I'm getting for it.

ahh, I see a problem, you appear to have mistakely bought it for the X360 :p

Play.com's postage is always 2nd class, this'll go tomorrow I bet to arrive on tuesday

For me it arrives two days after they send it. I think they're just clearing the huge backlog of pre-orders for them all to be despatched on Monday morning using Royal Mail's Special Delivery, which all online UK retailers have agreed to do to ensure no one receives it early. But if it is indeed sent tomorrow and I receive in on Saturday, I'll be very happy :p

I have a feeling the achievements for GTA 4 will be very similar to Assassin's Creed. Go get 50 packages, now 100, now 150. There will be story based achievements which will get unlocked just from playing the game. However, to get that 1000/1000 you will have to go find every single flag...erm, package, and kill every single templar...sorry I meant drug dealer.

I'm not trying to bash the game. I am very excited about it and this is probably the first time I have been this excited about a game, but I have a feeling some of the design decisions Rockstar had will not be very successful.

The main thing is it looks like MP is just tacked onto the game. Personally, I believe that GTA 4 online will be better if it was in a persistent environment. I don't think the "session" based environment will work that well. Although there may be limitations set with Xbox Live/PSN, I just don't think the session based games will work that well. The best aspect of GTA (in my opinion) is the large, realistic city. How can you expect to play a game based on turns (or sessions). These types of online experiences only work for racing, shooters or sports. The environment is just too large to limit online to a small portion.

Who knows...we will really have to wait and see what happens.

Publicly announcing that you downloaded the game....guess anything goes in Gamers' Hangout if you have a high enough post count.

He's probably already bought the game but can't wait to play it...

Have i said where i got it? I have i said where TO get it? Have i discussed it? No?

Then I'm not breaking any rules, so ... shhh.

    • Windows 11 is a big thumbs down from me. I used for a period of a few days while it was in insider and windows 10 was the main OS, and realised it wasn't for me. I am still waiting for Windows to be tolerable again, a shame as at one point I was very pro Microsoft.
    • Classic outlook, not only does it have a much fuller feature set, it doesn't include Microsoft attempting to sync my emails from my servers to theirs. If classic outlook is ever removed from office, and the version I paid for in 2021 stops working for some reason, I'll use Thunderbird.
    • Kdenlive 26.04.2 by Razvan Serea Kdenlive is an acronym for KDE Non-Linear Video Editor. It works on GNU/Linux, Windows and BSD. Through the MLT framework, Kdenlive integrates many plugin effects for video and sound processing or creation. Furthermore Kdenlive brings a powerful titling tool, a DVD authoring (menus) solution, and can then be used as a complete studio for video creation. Kdenlive supports all of the formats supported by FFmpeg or libav (such as QuickTime, AVI, WMV, MPEG, and Flash Video, among others), and also supports 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios for both PAL, NTSC and various HD standards, including HDV and AVCHD. Video can also be exported to DV devices, or written to a DVD with chapters and a simple menu. Visual effects include options for masking, blue-screen, distortions, rotations, colour tools, blurring, obscuring and others. Configurable keyboard shortcuts and interface layouts. Rendering is done using a separate non-blocking process so it can be stopped, paused and restarted. Kdenlive also provides a script called the Kdenlive Builder Wizard (KBW) that compiles the latest developer version of the software and its main dependencies from source, to allow users to try to test new features and report problems on the bug tracker. Project files are stored in XML format. An archiving feature allows exporting a project among all assets into a single folder or compressed archive. • Here's how to watch the Xbox Games Showcase today and what to expect by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The June games showcase week has been a packed one, with everything from major presentations like Sony and Summer Game Fest to indie-focused reveals coming in almost every day. Now, it's almost time for another big one, with Microsoft bringing its Xbox Games Showcase back later today. This is a double feature too, with a Gears of War E-Day deep dive also being attached to it. For anyone wanting to tune in online, the 2026 Xbox Games Showcase is kicking off at 10 AM PT | 1 PM ET | 6 PM BST | 7 PM CEST later today, June 7. The event will be available to watch on the official Xbox YouTube (4K 60FPS), Twitch, Facebook, Steam, Amazon Live, and other portals. Separate livestreams for American Sign Language and Audio Description will also be available. "This year marks 25 years of XBOX, and this Showcase is poised to be a true celebration, offering world premieres, new gameplay, fresh updates, and more for a swathe of projects we cannot wait to share," said Microsoft about this presentation. With a new CEO behind it that is pulling off some interesting moves, Xbox may have some surprises to reveal today. New looks at first-party games like Halo Campaign Evolved from Halo studios, Fable from Playground Games, InXile Entertainment's Clockwork Revolution, Mojang's Minecraft Dungeons II, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 from Infinity Ward are to be expected here. We may finally get to see the new Blade from Arcane Studios in action and a new Persona game from Atlus at the showcase too. Surprise announcements may also arrive from other Microsoft-owned studios like Bethesda, MachineGames, Ninja Theory, Obsidian, Rare, World's Edge, or Blizzard. Considering how every new release nowadays is staying away from November and December to avoid Grand Theft Auto VI's release, any launch dates Microsoft announces will probably skip those months as well. Once the Xbox Games Showcase ends, Microsoft will immediately kick off the Gears of War: E-Day Direct. This deep dive into the upcoming prequel from The Coalition should attach gameplay footage and perhaps a release window to the highly anticipated project.
