[Official] Grand Theft Auto IV

Well with people playing it early it is not fair for the rest of us, do you guys think that Rockstar will delete all the stats that this people are getting before release, i can already imagine some guy logging in at 12:01 to the Rockstar club and posting everything...

I mean, look at this :( ... http://i31.tinypic.com/29ighu.jpg

There is quite a difference. We do not and will never promote piracy here. By posting a link to a YouTube video from a random person, nobody here is showing that they've pirated the game or purchased it earlier than they should have. But by posting your own shots, you're pretty much saying, "Yeah, it was me, I did it," and showing that you have pirated the game or otherwise obtained it earlier than you're supposed to.

Talk of piracy is not allowed here, so it should follow that promoting piracy by showing screenshots of a game you have pirated is also not allowed.

alright.

Everyone please post your John Smith's GTA4 pictures/videos made by you John Smith. Makes the mods feel better.

Anyone here going to be lining up at midnight for the release? I can see people doing that for a console but I game? I dunno am I the only one who thinks its a bit much.

It is too much, if you wake up at 8,9 am that day and walk to the store they will still have plenty.

although i do understand from some people that are mega fans of the series and cant stand another second without playing it...

Ya...and Toys R Us is not advertising this game due to store policy :D

So how hard is it to evade the police now?

From what I've seen, 1 star is a case of driving to the end of the street, 2 stars is a bit more difficult, and anything 3 stars and above is impossible. When you have 6 stars, the radius you have to escape from takes up the entire map.

Damn :( Is it stupid AI like most games? So if you get out of a car while the police can't see and switch into another one would they recognise you from the other end of the street? Or if you're hiding around a corner the police will magically know where you are?

If you want to get max stars straight away, steal a helicopter and fly it into part of the map that you shouldn't be on till later in the game. I discovered that by accident

That really isn't a spoiler. It's been like that in all the games I think.

I don't think they will and personally I don't think it matters. Do you want to be the first person out there to get all 50 achievements unlocked? :p

The game should be fun regardless of what other people do. :)

True, still, it would have been cool to know how long it "actually" took someone to get everything in the game since the day of release...

Maybe to you guys who know the games inside out it's not a spoiler but to other "casual" gamers it is

I never even got a chance to fly on any of the other games lol

Well, just think about this for a minute. If you go somewhere you are not supposed to be, what do you expect to happen? Not being a smart ass, that's a serious question.

Well normally on "games" when you go somewhere you're not meant to go, there is a physical restriction in the way.

Such as an invisible wall that is impassible.

    • I like the show more options. The only problem with it is that it's not always in a consistent spot in the menu. If the copy/paste/cut, happens to show on top, then more option is the last in the menu. But if copy/paste/cut happens to show on the bottom, then more options is before the copy/paste/cut. But I do like the more options because it hides the stuff that I rarely use. But I would like to choose what it is or isn't hiding. That would make it better.
    • I wonder if "put it back the way it was for decades" ever crossed their minds? 🤣
    • Rescind the stupid "Show more options" in context menus and just give us the full menu instead of adding more steps to get to what we want. The "simpler by default" makes me think they'll go in the opposite direction. Every context menu should have a configure button so you can pick and choose what options should be shown, I know you can do that with some registry fu but that shouldn't be required.
    • This is why competition must exist. Finally, pressure is mounting on Microsoft to move in the right direction.
    • Microsoft is making Windows 11's context menus faster, simpler, and configurable by Taras Buria Five years ago, Windows 11 introduced redesigned context menus, offering users a simpler, more modern design. However, customers quickly discovered that the new menus leave a lot to be desired. Many are unhappy with performance (they are really slow), while others dislike the double-layed design, where many options are hidden behind the "Show more options" button. In addition, over the years, menus became cluttered and overloaded. While Microsoft has already fixed plenty of pain points across Windows 11, context menus remain mostly unchanged. Fortunately, Microsoft is finally listening. Marcus Ash, Design and Research Lead for Windows at Microsoft, responded to a tweet on X, confirming that the company is working on fixing Windows 11's context menus. Reworked context menus are supposed to be faster, simpler by default, and "configurable to what you use most." What the latter means is unknown, just like whether Microsoft plans to keep the classic menu alongside the modern one, but according to Marcus, the wait should finally be over soon, as he promised to "share our approach soon." Improved context menus will most likely appear first in Windows 11 preview builds in the Experimental Channel. While we wait for Microsoft to release them, you can try fixing context menus on your PC with a simple tool called Windows 11 Context Menu Manager. It lets you disable entries you do not need, not only cleaning up context menus, but also making them significantly faster. Microsoft has already improved Windows 11's Start menu and taskbar, so hopefully it will address user criticism of the context menu as well. Stay tuned for new Windows 11 preview builds, which usually arrive every Friday.
