Looking for an Awesome Keyboard

Recommended Posts

Here's the situation. I've had poor luck with keyboards (or desktops) I bought since the last year or so. Logitech's Bluetooth implementation was ridiculously unstable, not to mention it's performance. Microsoft's keyboard seems to forget letters once in a while ... Am I just unlucky ? Or are the keyboards I got just really bad ? I don't know. But since the last one broke just yesterday, I'm ready to get myself a new one, and I've run out of ideas. So I ask you, what's the best possible keyboard, quality-wise ? Now I'm not a huge gamer, though I like to game quite a bit, and mostly, keep in mind that this keyboard will be used quite often to write code in Visual Studio or in Eclipse.

So, what's the awesome keyboard (and/or desktop) I should get ?

While +CelticWhisper made a good observation that keyboard is just not pretty in my opinion.

I have two reccomendations the Logitech S510 which is a great wireless keyboard with a great deal placed on aesthetics. And comfortable as hell to type on. Although the mouse kinda sucks but the keyboard is really solid.

And the other is a bit on the high end mark and have'nt really toyed around with is the "Microsoft Wireless Entertainmente desktop 8000", it's got zilliion functions and is backlit so it helps on those nights that you only need to see your keys and nothing else.

I've recently been shopping around for a keyboard and setteled on the S 510 due to budget and features. That being said read some reviews you can easily google them up and do the proper research before buying something.

I personally love my Logitech MX3200 Desktop set.

Awesome keyboard, plus awesome mouse. Plus, it's quite cheap.

The build quality is awesome, it's a pleasure to type on (does not forgot letters), and the laser mouse is very precise. That can come in handy when gaming.

PS. it looks sexy too

I think the standard Dell keyboard is amazing. Plus they are very cheap and very reliable.

Used one of them in college for a year, pretty good, basic keyboard IMO.

Sorry to hijack, but I'm also looking for a good keyboard but it needs to have bluetooth. I don't mind paying for quality, if anyone could recommend one...

Logitech DiNovo Edge is a great keyboard.

im with the guy who likes the dell keyboard. my dad bought a dell pc and i just robbed the keyboard for my pc and left him with the old one lol, but i like its nice and compact.

however, while typing this i have noticed that at slow speed my spacebar squeaks, which naturally will annoy the fudge outa me. ;<

I'd have one of those Microsoft Entertainment Desktop 8000 thingies given the chance ..

some pics .. http://detail.zol.com.cn/91/90748/pic.shtml .. I like the idea of the keyboard starting to glow as you approach it .. nice !

or how about .. top 10 weirdest keyboards ever .. http://gadgets.fosfor.se/the-top-10-weirdest-keyboards-ever/ .. just to be different !!

I have to agree with this. I have an S 510 and was just browsing around trying to see if I could find anything better. I can't. Either the alternatives are two big and bulky or the keys require too much travel. The only keyboard I was sort of interested in was the Apple Wireless Keyboard, but the lack of a number pad and delete key sent me right back to loving my S 510.

I've been using a Saitek Eclipse for the past few years and like it a lot. The top right button turns on/off different levels of the key backlights.

Comes in blue and red I think.

Also, if you happen to like the laptop style slim keys, this is the best damn keyboard you could possibly get for $10.

It's called the Rosewill RK-7310.

i agree with you guys on the dinovo being a great keyboard,

mine broke after about 7-8months (battery didn't hold charge at all)

then the replacement they sent me didn't work out of the box (couldn't stay on or stay connected to my pc, even tried it on other computers)

this all started in january and still waiting for my 2nd replacement

but still it's a dream to have and i've never used a better keyboard!

    • As someone who isn't in the EU what is all this gatekeeper stuff about anyways?
    • The data center gold rush has tossed all forms of sensibility and reasoning right out of the window. The craziest part being that AI infrastructure isn't driven by consumer demand. It's being driven by manufacturers to force AI onto the market, consumers be damned.
    • Apple has not said whether the new prices are temporary ..... LOL.... These are the new prices peeps, because they will still sell them. Everybody will get used to the price hike = more Profit!
    • EU says AWS and Microsoft Azure should be treated as DMA gatekeepers by Pradeep Viswanathan Under the European Commission's Digital Markets Act (DMA), a company is presumed to be a gatekeeper if it meets certain quantitative thresholds. However, the Commission can still investigate and designate a company even if it does not meet the numeric thresholds, provided the service has a major market impact. The European Commission launched its investigations into AWS and Azure on November 18, 2025, to address unfair or anti-competitive practices in the cloud sector. Today, the European Commission has informed Amazon and Microsoft of its preliminary view that their cloud computing services, AWS and Azure, should be designated as gatekeepers under the DMA. The EC highlighted that Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure are the largest and second-largest cloud computing services in the European Union. Both of these platforms act as important gateways between businesses and their customers in the EU. The EC further mentioned that AWS and Azure have reached significant turnover, built large and entrenched user bases, and benefit from high switching costs and customer lock-in. Furthermore, their operational capacity and investments appear to have outpaced those of competitors. Teresa Ribera, Executive Vice-President for Clean, Just and Competitive Transition, said the following: It is important to note that the findings are preliminary and do not decide the final outcome. Amazon and Microsoft can now review the findings and respond to the Commission. However, if the Commission confirms its preliminary findings, it will formally designate Amazon and Microsoft as gatekeepers for AWS and Azure. Once designated, Microsoft and Amazon will have six months to bring their cloud services into full compliance with the DMA’s rules and regulations.
