Stargate SG-1: Ark of Truth

Recommended Posts

Just got my DVD of this today and finished watching it. It was decent and seems to be sellling very well on Amazon, #1 right now and usually in the top 5 for the past couple days. Not a bad ending to the Ori arc, but I hold out hope for an even better movie in Continuum. The best part was seeing the below code being supposedly overly complex replicator code that would take weeks to analyze...

Looks strangely like Javascript ;)

There was also the awesome Terminator sequence :D

I was sort of annoyed by some aspects of the movie

It was more of a disappointment to be honest. If you sit down and think of the things that happened in the movie, they make no sense... I don't know, I felt like they just tried to bring too many things into one movie, and that ruined it

Yeah, I felt it could have been longer and even though some parts of the Replicator sequence were good, I don't know that it was necessary to throw both villains in there simultaneously and try to fit it into what is essentially two episodes. Then again, the series also had rapid fire pacing and so maybe it wasn't all that crammed, at least for two episodes. It also felt somewhat of a rehashing of when they took on Anubis and the Replicators at the same time, in fact exactly the same the more I think about it: dealing with an ascended being while trying to fend off replicators and shut them down and in the end another ascended being takes care of the ascended being and they end up disabling the replicators at the same time. Nonetheless, it is SG-1 and hopefully it does decently well even if it is a rehash so we can enjoy what may be better movies like Continuum.

So you're telling me that the Replicators ran all their systems on...JavaScript?

Well that explains a lot.

And no less opening an HTML page in a new window ;)

I agree, I am a huge stargate fan but this money did dissapoint me. I am not going into it because I don't want to spoil it for people but I don't like some things at the beg.

Seems simple enough, given the demo code seen above, to defeat them, just insert the following into their code and watch them self terminate

self.close()

Ill have to track the movie down here in Oz, im a stargate tragic, and despite the bad points, most folks who like SG1 will watch it, for we are loyal!

    • Payday TWO!! Is 13 years old man I feel old - I remember trying it out and if I did not know I would say 5-6 years ago or something
    • Payday 2 engine upgrade adds 64-bit and DX11 support, drastically shrinks install size by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Payday 2, the most popular entry in the heisting game franchise, is getting a surprising update after all these years. This is slated to be a complete engine upgrade that will enhance almost every aspect of the 13-year-old title, targeting performance, loading times, file size, rendering backend, and more. Developer Sidetrack Games is planning a beta to test out the new version ahead of the full public launch. The development team today revealed that the long-awaited upgrade to the 64-bit architecture is happening with this Diesel 3.0 engine update. By letting the game use more ram than 4GB, it is said to improve stability and compatibility on most hardware. It should also help modders in the long term with implementing larger changes too. "While many of the changes are made on the backend and not everything will be visible to you guys because it is a massive rewrite of the entire codebase, there will be a lot of things that you can look forward to," Sidetrack explained. Payday 2 will also hop over from DirectX 9 to 11. Instead of visual improvements, this is slated to reduce the amount of VRAM used by the title, letting more lower-end hardware access the title and run it better. Since these changes would require a complete redownload of the game anyway, Sidetrack says it has revamped "the game's packaging and bundling system." This should reduce the installation size from 86GB to 32GB. "So, now it's time to finally move the game to your SSDs," added the studio. The Payday 2 Diesel Engine 3.0 update is entering open beta on June 30 for Steam users. No console release plans were announced today. Sidetrack Games says it has been working on this complete rewrite of the codebase for the last nine months. While these changes should break most mods, the studio encouraged modders to use the beta period to repair their creations with support from the development team.
