Devastator

There is some controversy over his name: the toys and video games list his name as Brawl, but in the film itself, and the official movie novelization, his name is Devastator. He refers to himself as Devastator in the movie subtitles. According to Roberto Orci, one of the writers of the movie, and Hasbro's Transformers team, "Devastator" is the mistake, and that the character is supposed to be named Brawl. The official names of all the Transformers seen in the film were confirmed in August of 2006, nearly a year before the film's North American release date. However, director Michael Bay was not fully aware of these names and sometimes referred to some of them by their "on-set names". (He said in an interview, that he often referred to Frenzy as "Soundbyte".) Thus, on-set he would refer to the tank Decepticon as "Devastator". Somehow, the name made its way into the final cut of the film. Director Michael Bay favored the name Devastator, as he felt that it sounded more threatening than Brawl. [2] The early leaked script Prime Directives had him named Devastator, as does the Titan UK magazine. Concept art for the character named him "Demolishor", as the name Brawl (in concept art) went to Blackout.

Human perception is that large bodies, elephants, whales etc. move slowly therefore zoomed out shots didn't look right (real) and were changed to close-up ones for more realism, it's mentioned in the making of features.

seems like crap, the view in some parts of the movie was too zoomed in, such as bumble bee's and barricades first fight

I'd like to see them take it more into Space, for battles....oh and bring in Unicron :D...that would make an epic movie

I think the Unicron wars would be great as the end of the trilogy, so we'll be waiting until 2011/12 for that one ;)

Philadelphia's KYW Newsradio 1060 has posted an interview with Sharon Pinkenson, executive director of the Great Philadelphia Film Office, that seems to confirm Transformers 2 shooting will take place in the city. Here's a clip:

"Dream of the Romans" has been shooting. 'Tenure", "Happy Tears", and "Marly and Me" are upcoming as is Transformers II. But won't giant robots wreck the place????

"Ha, ha. Let's just say the destruction part is going to be digitally enhanced."

Otherwise, there goes the neighborhood.

Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah WoaH WHAT THE HELL? why would they do this clearly the ending indicated the 2 were well rather together, how a and WHY even mention an EX of his?

Well, they still might be, but the first film generally gave the impression that Sam has never had a girlfriend, although it wasn't stated.

LOL

Next thing you will say like this is likely this -

I just finished watching Lost/Heroes on HDTV and wow why haven't I bought a HDTV sooner!

Funny you say that I am close to buying a HD TV so I can come back soon and say that :p but I have watched Heroes and Lost in 720p before.

    • UK to ban under-16s from social media following a six-week trial with teenagers by Paul Hill Credit: Pexels A few months ago, Neowin reported that the UK was trialing a social media ban with 300 teenagers for six weeks, that testing has come to an end, and Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced that the country will ban under-16s from social media. Starmer said that this technology is making children unhappy and making it easier for bullies to harass and abuse them. He continued to talk about the addictive nature of social media, saying that it uses an infinite scroll designed to lock users in for hours. He said this interferes with children doing their homework, reading, playing with friends outside, and going to bed on time. Tackling the idea that nothing can be done about social media, Starmer said: The government’s action won’t stop at social media either, the PM said. It plans to take action on gaming services and livestreaming platforms. Right now, he said, strangers can contact any child unchecked. He said this wouldn’t happen in real life, and the government is going to stop it from happening online, too. The Labour government has overseen the introduction of the Online Safety Act, a big change to the internet which includes age verification on adult websites. This has led to a fair bit of backlash, but overall, the government is pushing ahead with these changes.

    • I'll wait for the root cause analysis. Looks like it's HP, Lenova, and certain configurations that are askew, hardly "all of windows." Time will tell.
