I'd be so happy if they didnt go looking for characters to provide comedic relief. Any actor can have their "funny" moment, characters just there to be laughed at but come off as forced and annoying just as that donut eating hacker guy in the 1st did. He also added nothing to the story and could have been outright removed.

So yeah, glad talks broke down with that guy but innevitably they'll just get someone else. In all honesty the Transforms social misbehaviours were probably the funniest parts so I'd just stick to that.

DO NOT cast Johan Hill, I AGAINST!!!

Thank God!

....

How about just put the Comic Relief on the Robots? Freaking Idiots!!! Shia is Comic relief ENOUGH already for human!

This is an Action movie, NOT a damn Comedy!!!

In a welcome surprise, director Michael Bay has confirmed on his message board that he has cast Aussie soap actress Isabel Lucas (TV's "Home and Away") for the role of "Alice" in the upcoming "Transformers" sequel.

Lucas name was first rumored last week after appearing on an online casting database. As two previous casting rumors were shot down by Bay in the previous fortnight, many wondered if the Lucas casting would turn out to be another bit of speculation (myself included).

Turns out the talk was correct and Lucas is in. Meanwhile the film has been added to a list of upcoming 3-D releases for next year in the latest issue of the Dolby newsletter. The problem though is one of availability of 3D screens with "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" already locking up a lot of the Digital 3D screens available in the marketplace.

Heery Casting has posted the following casting call (with a possible spoiler) for the Bethlehem, Pennsylvania shoot:

We are looking for Asian talent for the new Dreamworks feature film, "Transformers 2", directed by Michael Bay.

Needed are Asian men and women, boys and girls, ages 7-65, for a scene set in a fictional Chinese city. Shooting will take place in the Bethlehem PA area, in the beginning of June 2008.

No acting experience necessary; both SAG and non-union talent will be considered. All roles are paid positions.

In addition to "real" people, we are also looking for any Asian talent with a military background.

If interested and available, please e-mail a picture to: [email protected]

Be sure to include all contact information, union status (if any) and state military experience, if any.

NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE.

Philadelphia Location Confirmed and Extra's Needed

The Bethlehem Steel site is what drew the makers of 'Transformers 2' to the Lehigh Valley, Bethlehem Mayor John Callahan said.

The movie crew will film in Bethlehem during the first week of June and will use the blast furnaces as the scene's backdrop, Callahan said. ''It's going to bring a tremendous amount of excitement to the city,'' especially for any locals who nab walk-on roles, he added.

According to an announcement from Heery Casting of Philadelphia, the filmmakers hope to cast local ''Asian men and women, boys and girls, ages 7 [to] 65'' as paid extras in the movie. In particular, the crew hopes to recruit extras of Asian descent who have military backgrounds.

Tyrese Confirms role in Sequel, John Voight as well:

'I just talked to Shia a second ago, and left John Voight a message 15 minutes ago,' he said, inadvertently letting slip that Voight's Secretary of Defense character returns for the sequel.

'Michael Bay is going to up the ante on round two and raise the level. I can't go into any details , but it's going to be some real one of a kind things in this movie that no one has seen visually in their life. Michael Bay is really fired up to try and outdo what he did on the first round.'

    • Microsoft now allows you to tweak Visual Studio to new extremes by Usama Jawad Visual Studio 2026 recently netted a powerful feature that finally allows developers to review Git Pull Requests (PRs) directly in the integrated development environment (IDE), without needing to switch to the browser. However, that's not all that Microsoft introduced in the latest version, as it also offered a useful way to customize the IDE to their heart's content. Although Visual Studio 2026 already provides lots of stock themes based on Fluent Design principles, Microsoft understands that people still want to customize them further according to their preferences. The IDE now offers a new configuration page for themes under Tools > Options > Environment > Visual Experience > Theme colors. This allows you to set hex color codes for accent colors, hover states, and more, and apply them without requiring a restart. The Redmond tech giant further says that: Microsoft is also offering granular color tokens that allow you to customize various UX elements like the tab header without impacting the rest of the shell chrome. Your themes are also stored in JSON format in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\VisualStudio\18.0_xxxxxxxx\ColorThemes, which basically enables you to share it with others or override existing themes. This is a major improvement in terms of the user experience powering these customization capabilities. This is because extensions were required to replace the theme, and it was not very easy to make minor adjustments. This theme configuration UX solves this problem and is available in Visual Studio 2026 version 18.7, available here.
