Soundwave in Transformers 2?

Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci have confirmed that Soundwave is included in the script for Transformers 2.

?We had to get Soundwave in there,? Orci told IGN. ?You know, we had Ravage in an early draft of the first movie and Soundwave, and we couldn?t do it right and I think this time hopefully we?ll have the ability to do it.?

Set Reports

Here is the latest set report for the new Transformers 2 movie, with production details and new set photos:

From a source that wishes to remain un-identified comes the below pictures that show preparation to transform the site into part of a Chinese city. In addition to the pictures, the person provided some details about the shoot that will take place in the first week of June.

- The east side of the site is being re-developed so most of the shooting will take place on the west side.

- A new concept car (possible Transformer?) not used in the first movie will be used there

- Two Blackhawk helicopters will be used

- The area will be patrolled by the site security and Bethlehem City Police who will also and close streets for the shoot.

For the pictures, some just show what the site looks like from a street level and how it might be useful to appear as a city. You can also see that Chinese name (anyone translate?) has been added to the top of one building and painted on the street in another.

A professor that turns into a car that turns into a robot,? he laughed.

You can certainly take that last assertion with a healthy grain of salt, but only barely, since so little is known about the plot of the upcoming blockbuster sequel beyond the most basic: that it will follow Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) as a newly minted college student. For his part, Wilson was coy with more details, claiming to have not even read a full script.

But while the overall plot remains shrouded in mystery, Wilson?s casting ? along with the recent announcement that Jonah Hill was offered but declined a role as Sam?s college roommate ? would seem to indicate that Bay is going for a more comedic tone in his second go-round with Optimus Prime.

?Transformers 2? is currently setting up shop in Bethlehem, PA, home to Lehigh University.

This is practically in my backyard... well.. I can see Bethlehem Steel from my deck... I have off June 4th.. so maybe I can go and check out the filming...

Bethlehem Transformers 2 Shoot Details

Source: ComingSoon.net

May 28, 2008

A letter from the location manager of DreamWorks/Paramount Pictures' Transformers 2 has gone out to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania residents saying that the sequel will be shooting at the former Bethlehem Steel site at 511 E Third Street on June 2-4 from approximately 4pm to 7am on all three dates.

The letter states that "The work will include aerial work with both camera and military helicopters, large scale pyrotechnics, prop guns and squibs, and large lights. We are working with the city to close 3rd Street from Hayes to Polk and Polk Street from 3rd to 1st 7pm - 6am all three days. This will help us maintain a safety perimeter for our work. Local traffic and emergency lanes will be kept open at all times."

Stay tuned for possible updates from this shoot. The sequel is scheduled for a June 26, 2009 release.

Transformers 2 screenwriter Roberto Orci has made an interesting comment on Don Murphy?s message board:?I?d love and think we could almost barely manage ten on each side, with some front and center and others as more supporting.?

Translation: There will be almost 20 Transforming Robots in disguise in the upcoming Michael Bay sequel!

Fans were worried that the sequel would be more human focused than the original, despite comments from Bay himself. Although I?m note quite sure 20 Transformers is a step in the right direction. The biggest fan criticism o the first film was that you didn?t get to spend enough time with the Transformers as personalities. And now with almost 20 of them on the big screen, alongside the human characters, who knows if the sequel will be any different. Although on the other hand this could mean more big robot action sequences, which is always cool.

Also this just in? /Film Reader Jason ?My girlfriend works at Eastern State Penitentiary in the Fairmount area of Philadelphia. It was used as a prison from 1829 until 1971, and is now a historical site and museum. Anyway, at the prison today producers for Transformers 2 were on site with scale models of Megatron, Optimus Prime and Star Scream and were scouting filming locations in cell block 1 and the prison kitchen. Just thought I?d let people know that filming should begin here soon.?egin here soon.?

So looks like we can expect a big giant robot jailbreak.

Who ever said that Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid isn't good for anything? One of its stars, Matthew Marsden, is still getting work in Hollywood! Yes, the former Corrie actor has landed a role in Transformers 2, apparently playing a British soldier.

Marsden, who recently appeared in Rambo and Resident Evil: Extinction (we'll be polite and just not mention DOA: Dead or Alive) is once again playing an army type, this time a member of British Special Forces called Graham. Since the whole robot-fighting thing goes worldwide this time, he'll be working alongside Tyrese and Josh Duhamel's American troops - but we don't know much more than that since Michael Bay ain't talking. MTV does report, however, that the role of Graham (somehow a rather unthreatening name) has been beefed up for the actor, testament to how impressed Bay was by him.

Filming's due to start in just a few weeks. But we still have two questions: 1. If there are going to be up to 20 robots fighting at once, as recently reported, how much time are any of the human cast going to have to do anything? and 2. Weren't you a tiny bit disappointed that that headline doesn't mean that James Marsden was cast instead? Matthew's lovely and all, but James is lovely and he can sing.

It's supply and demand. There's almost no supply and the score is pretty amazing. Have you checked eBay? they've sold for pretty close to that price.

The above shot shows the Asian city which is the setting for the opening set piece of the Transformers sequel. Looks like everyone is fleeing from the smoke filled factory. Could a big giant robot be the source of the problem? Rumor has it that Ironhide was spotted inside?

The sequel to Michael Bay's supercar movie Transformers will up the ante, with 20 transforming robots total: 10 good bots and 10 evil ones, says writer Roberto Orci.

What most people in the crowd didn't see were the human stars of the ''Transformers 2'' scene, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson, who were deep inside the closely guarded south Bethlehem set Monday and Tuesday nights.

''It's a pretty complicated shoot,'' he said, adding that there are also about 75 extras on the set. Some of those extras are military experts from southern California, others are from the Philadelphia area, and the rest are from the Lehigh Valley, he said.

The ''Transformers 2'' sequence shot at the Steel, which will open the movie, is set in a fictional Chinese city. It will feature Duhamel and Gibson's characters joining with Chinese police and military to fight at least one evil ''Transformers'' robot emerging in front of the Steel's instantly recognizable blast furnaces

I know the first one was really good but if these pictures and clips keep popping up, the it might spoil it for everyone. Hype + spoilers = disasters.

I'm gonna keep away from this as much as possible.

Well I won't post pictures to this thread that gives alot away and if theres any details then spoiler tags will be used.

    • Hello, The Nvidia Founders Edition 3080 video card is approximately six years old, correct? Have you looked into whether replacement fans are available for it? Perhaps replacing those will improve cooling, especially when combined with cleaning the card's heatsink and replacing the thermal interface materials. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • Hello, While ~104 GB of space may seem generous (at least compared to other e-readers which have 8-32GB), I feel at this price point the device should have a Micro SDXC card slot for expansion, particularly if it allows audio books to be installed and played. I hope to see more reviews of 6" phone-sized e-readers on Neowin in the future. It will be interesting to see how they compare. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky

Sandboxie allows you to run your browser, or any other program, so that all changes that result from the usage are kept in a sandbox environment, which can then be deleted later. Sandboxie is a sandbox-based isolation software for 32- and 64-bit Windows NT-based operating systems. It is being developed by David Xanatos since it became open source, before that it was developed by Sophos (which acquired it from Invincea, which acquired it earlier from the original author Ronen Tzur). It creates a sandbox-like isolated operating environment in which applications can be run or installed without permanently modifying the local or mapped drive. An isolated virtual environment allows controlled testing of untrusted programs and web surfing. Sandboxie is available in two flavors Plus and Classic. Both have the same core components, this means they have the same level of security and compatibility. What's different is the user interface the Plus build has a modern Qt based UI which supports all new features that have been added since the project went open source. The Classic build has the old no longer developed MFC based UI, hence it lacks support for modern features, these features can however still be used when manually configured in the Sandboxie.ini. • Hello, Christian Maas' XVI32 is a nice (and very small) hex editor. Speaking of hex editors, many years ago a colleague and I who both worked at Tribal Voice managed to edit a copy of the company's PowWow instant messaging client to make it behave better now that all of its lookup servers and other server-side tech was gone.  The program didn't support NAT (RFC-3022 was introduced in January 2001, the same time Tribal Voice was shuttered), but it still worked okay if you manually set up port-forwarding on your router.  The server at http://powwow.jazy.net/ hosts a copy (usual warnings about downloading and running untrusted code from random internet servers apply). I occasionally use some tools like Funduc Software's Search and Replace and Application Mover when I need to make mass-edits to text-based files or move programs with a hard-coded installation directories, respectively.  When I need to figure out the exact LCD panel inside of a laptop, EnTech Taiwan's Monitor Asset Manager is my go-to tool for that purpose. JD Design's website (now hosted on github.io) has a number of interesting freeware and shareware utilities.  I used to use their TouchPro utility to set the file timestamps on software I was mastering to match its version number (e.g., version 3.00 of a program had all of its files dates set to 3:00AM, and so forth). Karenware has a number of interesting freeware utilities, too. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
