How to configure my SSH server to allow anonymous access?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have an SSH server installed in my Home PC using Bitvise WinSSHD and I have it configured for full administrator access, that's me. I log in to the server using my own Windows administrator account. I'm also using Bitvise Tunnelier as the SSH client.

I'm having a problem with my SSH configuration, SOCKS proxy and FlashFXP, so, I contacted FlashFXP technical support about the problem and it's goten into a situation where the testing done by FlashFXP support doesn't reproduce the same issue I'm having and I was asked to give access to my own SSH server, so they could test it.

I don't have any reasons to not trust them, but I don't have reasons to do it either. And I prefer to be safe than sorry... So, I need some insight on what to do cause I don't understand much of how all this works. I managed to configure the SSH server and client using some guides I found.

What advices do you guys have for me to configure the server to allow them temporary access so they could test their thing?

@Huleboeren

Sorry but I don't have them. I searched for them when I needed something like this. However, I remember posting something about it here on Neowin but I'm not sure if someone posted links with guides. Maybe they did and that's probably where I got the info from. Do a search on ssh (or something like that) and specify my username. You might find something that helps...

But I'm the only one that logs in to the server, why is it insecure for me to log in as admin?

Anyway, a temporary account will also give them full access to the ssh server will it not? I was already going to set up a temporary account, but I have a feeling that I should do something else too..

    • Damn no doubt this is gonna be good, can't think of many franchises as consistent as RE (apart from 3 remake)
    • There are two version of qbittorrent 5.1.0 The normal version which I think is based of QT5 & the QT6 lt20 version. I'm currently using the QT6 LT20 version of 5.1.0 and it downloaded an ubuntu iso perfectly fine.
