You will have to choose which one you want to use, because neither is transparent, just one is made to match the odd posts, one is made to match the even posts.

You cannot make the icons look transparent as your avatar, Internet Explorer does not have support for transparent .PNGs. If you use a transparent icon as your avatar, it will not be transparent when you apply it.

Thank you for the info and the PNGs, I chose one of them...hey, at least part of my posts will look right :) I have a .gif I normally use on other forums, but on some of them (including neowin) it looks pretty jagged.
