Medking
Hey everyone, After installing Vista SP1 I've noticed dramatic slowdowns with bootup and startup, anyone else having the same problem, and if this is a vista sp1 issue, has anyone come up with a "fix"? +allan MVC Posted March 27, 2008 MVC Share Posted March 27, 2008 Give it a few days and it should be fine. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/628183-slower-boot-and-startup-time/#findComment-589296930 Share on other sites
ak03
Your problem probably lies with the prefetch being deleted. When you install SP1 your prefetch is deleted. +allan MVC Posted March 27, 2008 MVC Share Posted March 27, 2008 Correct. Supefetch is cleared and needs to "relearn" your pattern of using programs and then repopulate itself. Medking
awesome guys thanks for the responses, will give it some time also, is the SP1 available from the website official? Because seeing as in this forum "windows Vista Support" under Service Packs, it is not listed yet? and it was removed from Windows Update..? random_n
It was there yesterday, at least. Just hit "check for updates", and it ought to show up (or at least its prerequisite updates if you've not applied them yet).
