This is the first time a triple century has been scored on Indian soil. The previous best was 281 made by VVS Laxman. Sehwag hit 42 boundaries and five sixes in his marathon innings. He is still unbeaten on 309..

last time he scored 300+ aganist pakistan in multan and that too on 29 march 2004

It was a great innings. Concentrating for that amount of time and not to mention the heat and humidity was really impressive. I only wish that he'd gone on and got close to Lara's record.

Mind you, having the fastest triple century isn't a bad record to have.
