Hey, I have to design a simple social network in UML as a college project but i am having bit of trouble getting started.
I have drawn out my usecases... Have a few questions about them
1) Do the usecases need to be extended from the login usecase (Can only add an image, comment or friend once the user is logged in) ?
2) Is the Authenticate user usecase needed or would you consider that to be covered in the login usecase?
Now i have to draw out class diagram and a few communications diagrams... Which would you suggest i start first?
My book tells me to start with the communications diagram and other sources tell me to start with the class diagram... Both have good reasons why.
I have also included a "user login" communication diagram... Dont have any of the message passings in yet (Is that why you start with the class diagram?). Would someone be able to show me an example login communication diagram, a simple one that just compares the username and password supplied by the user against the database.
I would like to have the basics sorted out before i continue....
Thanks
