The way to do it nowadays is to create/get a hold of a Pandora Battery/Magic Memory stick.

It's the only option for firmwares above something like 3.10, but it's the best way anyway - With those two pieces of kit, you can unbrick PSPs as well.

With 2.82 YOU MIGHT be able to one of the downgrader applications. I believe 2.80 can be downgraded with just an app, I don't know about 2.82.

I'll have a look for you. If it can, what you'll be doing is downgrading to 1.5, then making a journey to CFW all by just running an application off a memory stick.

Yeah you're going to need to go with Pandora.

2.82+ can only be downgraded using downgraders with either GTA or Lumines if you don't use Pandora.

If it was 2.80, you could've used an old fashioned 1.5 downgrader.

Ah well, pandora/magic mem stick is the best way to go anyway (Y) It can downgrade anything, it automatically puts CFW on the PSP for you, and it can unbrick any PSP.

Options for you... If you have a mate with a PSP, borrow a battery/mem card - You can convert a battery back to normal.

Buy a predone battery/mem stick off ebay - Costs money...

Find someone to do it for you - http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=75833 - Maxconsole have a topic of helpers, but then you're obviously relying on someone else to do it.

It can be done with only one battery, but I've not looked into it and I think you actually have to mod your battery on the hardware side of things, instead of just temporarily changing it from within a PSP.

If I had a Pandora battery/mem stick I could have sent you it, but I bought a PSP on firmware 1.5 off ebay a while back. Neowin has some more UK members, maybe someone else can help?

You can buy pre-modded batteries off ebay etc, get one of the pandora kits off there. I think someone else here did that and it was all good.

me? I modified my spare battery, as I'd bricked mine by mistake lol.

oh, and back everything up, as I lost my savefiles by mistake :(
