National Hockey League 2007-08 Stanley Cup Playoffs

How about Fleury played one of the greatest games I've ever seen? THAT is why you lost.

My favourite part of that game:

The crowd starts chanting, "We want the cup! We want the cup" with about 5 minutes left in the 3rd. Whoops!

The Pens were clearly outplayed the entire game and scored on truly lucky bounces, no skill, no drive, no passion shown. Fleury had 2 Goalie Interference calls in overtime that even the announcers, who had been pulling for the Pens all night, said were utter BS. Both times the Detroit player was pushed into the goaltender by a Pens player yet we got the Penalty.

If you really feel that was one of the greatest games you've ever seen I feel bad for you. If a one sided contest decided by Reffing for the team who couldn't perform is a great game then you must love the 'New NHL.'

I'm not one who is going to normally rant about a loss, it's move on and win the next one, however I truly feel this game was unfairly reffed during overtime giving the Pen's the game.

(N) Can't win? Call in a Ref, works for the Pens! (N)

You're saying Pittsburgh's goals were 100% lucky and involved no skill, drive or passion? Someone's bitter.

yeah thats a little harsh, i think the pens owed it to fleury to win the game, and they came through when it mattered... which is all that counts.

Goal 1 : Bounced off a Detroit Stick, into the net.

Goal 2 : Detroit Player Shoots into into his own net attempting to clear

Goal 3 : Overdrive, Crash the Net, Pushed a Detroit Player into Chris Osgood opening a hole on the short side.

Goal 4 : Courtesy of the Officials and Bad Calls

So yes, I'm saying that there was no skill, drive, or passion there.

Yaya let's all blame the refs for Fleury's performance

Look at it this way: how can you complain about having an extra hockey match in the series?

Fleury is the only Pen on the ice who was playing, I can respect his ability but the rest of his team was simply a laughing stock until they were given enough chances with the advantage to squeak one through. The series should have ended in Detroit last night, plain and simple.

Between the two teams I want Pen to win. But damn, this is so true. The only person who showed up to play was Fleury. Some of the worse hockey I've ever seen a team play. Shouldn't have ended last night with Detroit hosting the cup.

how is high sticking a bad call. Especially when the guy is bleeding. Yeah the reffing in the NHL sucks, but a player is 100 percent responsible for his stick and if he cuts the player with it he has to deal with the consequences. Yeah losing on a penalty kill in triple overtime for the stanley cup sucks, but they deserved the penatly. I hate the pens just as much as you do but a high stick is a high stick...

I'm more referencing the first two bad calls, I agree you have to call a High Stick but the other two wore down our defense for that call.

Greatest goaltending performances, if you didn't understand what I meant

Outplaying means nothing, what matters is the score on the board at the end of the game. Goalies are part of a team too.

Does anyone know if the 2008 Draft is going to be broad casted on US Television? I've looked at Versus, and found nothing for the month of June but some crosby special :(!

I believe Versus showed the draft last year. I know I watched it on TV in California last year.

This year it should be on TV as well. If it's not on Versus it will be on NHL Network (DirecTV ch 215)

    • Very fitting name since AI users have air where there brains should be.
    • Yes, it was amusing at the time because even then dbrand was well known for stealing the designs of products from other companies. That’s what they do.
    • Didn’t Dbrand once complain that Casetify was ripping off their designs a well? seems pretty bad of them to try and get around Valve’s copyright this way with that in mind.
    • Dbrand thought they could get away with this Steam Machine case, Valve disagreed by David Uzondu Image via Dbrand Dbrand has cancelled its highly anticipated Companion Cube enclosure for the Valve Steam Machine, which it teased back in November of last year with a concept render and sign-up page, because it did not ask Valve for permission first before manufacturing the case. According to Dbrand, it took the "backwards approach" of building the product first before asking for permission from the copyright holder. Seven months of work went into the project, requiring over a thousand engineering hours from the design team. Workers developed forty-four sets of injection molding tools, making a unique mold for each sub-component of the crate. When the Companion Cube went live on Monday last week, it, according to Dbrand, quickly became the second-fastest-selling product in the company's fifteen-year history, racking up orders for hundreds of thousands of units. Customers eagerly bought the $129.95 deluxe edition or the bare-bones $99.95 version, which the manufacturer cheekily branded as the "Poverty Cube". It was around this time that the legal eagles at Valve descended on the accessory maker with a formal demand. The developer pointed out that the iconic block design remains protected intellectual property from the game Portal, so unlicensed sales had to stop. Dbrand said that all its pleas to salvage the project with the Valve team, including proposals to run a properly licensed release under official terms "with their blessing", fell on deaf ears, so it had no choice but to obey and remove every trace of the product from the internet. If you bought the enclosure, the company said that banks will process your refund by the end of this week, but if it still hasn't arrived in your account by then, you should not hesitate to contact support. The Steam Machine itself is a high-performance console that Valve designed directly to bring PC gaming into the living room. It was announced on 12th November 2025 (the same day Dbrand announced the Cube) and runs on the Linux-based SteamOS, the same OS that powers the Steam Deck. As for the price, due to the shortage of memory and storage chips, the hardware cost landed much higher than people were expecting, starting at $1,049 for the 512 model (without a controller) or $1,128 with the new gamepad. The premium 2 TB model pushes those prices even higher, selling at $1,349 for the standalone console and hitting $1,428 if you want the bundle.
