I am getting browser crashing all the time. I installed it, opened a browser window, went to view->toolbars->Neowin Toolbar. That opened the toolbar. Then I noticed I keep getting errors when I open the browser that require the browser to shut down. Then I open another, and it continues. I had to turn the toolbar off for it to quit restarting. I think you have something wrong.

ah poopy

now my computer won't be total neowin :(

Well you can always just use IE for Neowin. ;) Personally, I think this toolbar is cool! (Y)

@chorpeac - You are the third person I know to say something about browser crashing. Though no one has figured out what is causing it (it's not the Toolbar... one guy was getting it on his homepage, the other, after IE was open for about 5 min).

Yeah it continued to happen. There are only like 3 people getting this problem? Hmmm....I am using it on my work computer. The only thing I have on here that I know may be slightly different is I am running the Google toolbar and Desktop search addins. Also, my IE titlebar says blah blah blah - Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by *company* where blah blah blah is the pages title and *company* is my companies name.

Would those do anything to make it fail?

It shouldn't. I know my friends started happening yesterday... and nothing has been able to help him. It's his home system and he hasn't done squat. So I don't know... I know he switched to Netscape temporarily until it starts working...

i get a similer problem too so had to reove it to :(

Is the same version that has been available in the past...

As for the crashes I really don't know what's wrong...

I need more information:

IE Version ( a picture with 'About Internet Explorer Version' is perfect)

What plugins for IE you have installed

And if you can please try this

enable only Neowin Toolbar, disable other toolbars and see what happens.

I think you'd get a broader use of this program if you got it to work with MyIE2, because a LOT of ppl use it including myself. Frantly i can go without your program if you don't support it in MyIE2 than rather switching back to IE. Even if you have to recode it to work or something, it would be a smart thing. Other programs work in both so obviously its possible. Just a idea. If you don't i'm not going to go out and find you or anything...

Ok I reinstalled it and turned off the google toolbar and desktop tool. I can't post a screenshot but here is the information I have on the about screen

Version: 6.0.2800.1106CO

Update Versions: sp1,Q828750;Q330994;Q824145

Hope that helps.

I left IE for MYIE2 because IE kept crashing. MYIE2 is much better than IE, imo.

I GUESS I'll survive w/o my Neowin toolbar...don't know how

I totally agree with you.

I've tried to work this out some time ago and I've spoke with the author of Avant Browser. It seems that Google Toolbar is supported by AB bacause of some 'engineering'. I don't think this will happen with Neowin Toolbar because it requiers (possible) a lot of work. I'm guessing is the same case with myIE.

However I'm trying something to resolve this issue... just be patient because I don't have much time on my hands right now...

Any plans to have it supporting user's visual styles as opposed to it standing out in a totally different colour?

I don't know about that. It's supposed to take its background , buttons and menus colors from IE/Windows.

Please post a picture with your toolbar so I can see what's all about...

Sure.

As you can see, the theme is blue but the toolbar is light gray.

    • You are clueless. The updates are done in the background so the next time you open Edge the updates are applied automatically. There is no need to close all your tabs. Just keep browsing like you normally do. Clearly you don't use Edge and are just one of those haters that complain for the sake of complaining.
    • I don't get this David. Can you explain it please.
    • Microsoft is busy. Lots of changes to be released imminently for Windows server or soon. Also, lots happening for next version as well. Third party virus scanning software is being moved out of Kernel mode to avoid repeat of Crowdstrike incident. Windows Protected Mode and Windows Ready Print no longer require third party print drivers to be installed. New storage stack being developed. New NVME drivers now available for Windows Server 2025 to improve local NVME drive performance by 60+ percent. NVME-Of of fabric being worked on for next release to improve network access to NVME drives. ReFs (next file system) now has ability to boot and will become default file system in next release of Windows Server. ReFs improves on NTFS in several areas including resiliency and reliability and scalability. New update stack is being worked on to unify Windows updates, and updates for drivers and first party/3rd party application software. A stricter and more robust third-party driver certification program (ODI) is being worked on to improve performance, thermals, battery life, and reliability on modern Windows hardware by tightening how OEMs and IHVs (Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, etc.) build and ship drivers. There is a tone more but too numerous to mention.
