brand
I just implemented WSUS at one of my clients, and the RAM usage of the SQL db instance is way too high. Does anyone have experience adjusting the amount of RAM a DB can use? I'm familiar with Enterprise Manager; unfortunately this client doesn't have Enterprise Manager available. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Matt [edit] Found this: http://msmvps.com/blogs/bradley/archive/20...-more-time.aspx And this: http://msmvps.com/blogs/bradley/archive/20...that-matter.asp which makes the process easier. After getting an access error, and performing this, I still get an access error; neither sqlcmd, osql or the GUI allow access. After attempting to use SQL Server Management Studio Express to connect, I even tried osql and sqlcmd with no luck. Any help is appreciated! Skoey
I assume by the fact you are running SQL Server Managment Studio that you are using SQL Server 2005. I think you have more than 1 problem if you cant connect to your SQL Server. Try rebotting the sql server then try and login to it again. Do you have remote desktop / physical access to the sql server. Login to Machien as an Administrator. Run the Managment Studio app, and attempt to login. I can not reboot the server, and rebooting the server will not help. The real question is, has anyone ever connected to the "Windows Internal Database," aka MICROSOFT##SSEE, before? If so, what are the credentials needed? The NT Auth\Network System user is running the sqlservr.exe instance, and local Administrators has full control to the ldf/mdf that is the database. As you can see I'm kind of stuck, and, albeit not massively critical; it would be worth gaining access.
