building a new system need some advice

i am building a new pc, and i want some advice on what i should get, i was thinking about getting intel quad core 2.5 gig yorkshire processesor , with 8 gigs of ddr 2, evga 780i motherboard, corsair ddr 2 pc 800 ram,

i am mainly doing video processesing and video games. unreal, bioshock, team fortress.

i was wondering if i should just got with 4 gigs of ddr3, with that config.
