Just got this Email, anyone else got it?

Greetings!

You have been a long and thrustworthy participant in our community, and as such we would like to thank you for helping us form Age of Conan into the marvelous product it is today. The last weeks has seen some serious enhancment to the game, and with the release we will be opening several new areas and neverbefore seen content in the launch version of the game. What and where it is? You have to find out for yourself!

As a sign of gratitude for your aid, we are pleased to offer you the in-game item used by those loyal to King Conan: The Drinking Cape. This item will allow your characters (one game account only) to free of charge demand the very sought after alcholic drink of "Ambrosia" - free and in unlimited supplies for life! After having claimed your cape, merely find one of the kegs in the finer Inns of Hyboria and click it whilst wearing your cape to receive your drink.

To register your cape, log in to your account page by https://register.ageofconan.com clicking here and under the option "Use a Key" - enter this key:

OMGWTFREMOVEDSRYSUX

Once this has been done, use the command "/claim" inside the game to claim your in-game items. These items work for all the characters you create on your account. Note that all in-game items are only available on full accounts, and do not work on pre-order, buddy or (later) trial accounts.

Note that this item will not be made available again at later dates - so wear it with pride!

Regards,

Funcom

that looks familiar, were you on cimerria server, with an Ranger named Ankah in your party ( 3 person party)

if so that was me, lol

Sure, tomorrow I'll grab a couple. I just got done with a near 10 hour play session.

This should be enough to whet your appitite though

This is Medium graphics, and I have to stress...I'm up pretty high in some ruins while I fight that .. bat-demon, so you don't see any surrounding scenery, plus it was foggy.

im under 20 so no idea what 20+ is like, but so far its a boring version of GuildWars

i heard 20+ is better though, im holding off my decision on canceling until i get above 20 and out of the MosEisley that is Tortage

It would be nice if someone could post a review. Nothing too in-depth, but their personal likes and dislikes of the game and maybe a comparison to what MMOs they've played in the past.

Thanks.

Anyone who wants to see a high res video of gameplay footage here you go. Lvl 19 1 about 4 hours of game play and I have to say I love it. Sure its still a bit wet around the ears and needs some tweaking but most new games are just like that.

Well I'm in no way a professional reviewer and usually my opinion counts for very little, i have horrible grammer and patience when writing stuff but here is what i wrote. LINK

Introduction

Well after the 14.1GB early access download, then the 24.1GB install, and after the 1.5GB?s of patches I didn?t get early access to the game. So come Tuesday I logged in for the first time and was greeted with some of the sexiest MMO graphics I have ever seen, granted I?m on a beast of a machine that is pumping 80+ FPS out in the woods and in groups with people casting speControlsls

Right off the bat I had problems with the key bindings, the thumb buttons on the mouse were hard coded to ?auto run? and were not changeable. This poses a problem for the many many people out there who bind Ventrilo/Teamspeak to that button, I myself use mouse 4 to ?target nearest enemey?. I have to say that the game is still a little buggy, if you mess up your key bindings your kinda SOL untill you restart the game. Once you get used to the bindings the game becomes enjoyable and you begin your jouGameplayb>Gameplay

The character selection screen was pretty nice and with the sheer number of character details you can change you can spend upwards of 30 minutes just making a character. This leads me into the character models, I?ll tell you now, I?m a fan of the boobies so when I saw that the female models in this game looked as good as they do I had to make female characters. Nudity? Yes, its like going to the topless bar down the street, except you paid $50 for them. When your bored in game or just wanna look as a nice rack just take off the shirt and there they are, good way to always put a smile on your face.

The quests are nice and easy so far and with the mini map showing your objectives it?s not to hard to do them in a timely manner. The mini map however has a few issues, group locations is one big one, the ability to locate your group on the mini map is so hard its not worth the time to try. Distinguishing your party members among other players is also a little hard, this may be due to my lack of playing the options fully so don?t take my word for it just yet.

Day and Night mode, probably what makes this game so fun is that you can go from single player to multi-player just by talking to the NPC in the Inn. This is where you do your Destiny Quests (your story line) and pick up some goodCombat System

Combat System

DDR anyone? Those of us out there who have played DDR on our PC?s will pick this game up quit quick do to the fact that the combat system relies on your ability to do key combinations that show up on the screen. The people out there with G15?s will have it easy (^_^ as do I). You will seem to run out of key bindings real fast, I know I did with the Assassin class so macros will be your friend. Its not a hard system to get used to, levels 1-5 will make it easy for you to pick up.

Fatality! Yes fatalities are in the game and fun as hell. Mature content was no joke when this game was made, blood, boobies, and swearing are all there so lets keep the game out of kiddies hands, which also will make the game more fun, leConclusion there.

Conclusion

I know I didn?t cover a lot of the game and I?m sorry for that, I just haven?t had the time to go in depth on how the game is. I?m only lvl 14 and yet to see how the later stuff works. As far as I know the guild system seems pretty nice with player made cities. The chat system could use a revamp because I?m sad to say this but WoW?s chat system was probably the best I have seen in a game so hopefully they will get on the ball and fix that.

Graphics: 9 (only because no DX10 yes)

Sound: 9 (sounds great but I always get annoyed by in game sound)

Controls: 7 (needs to be redone, but playable)

Gameplay: 10 (its just so damn fun)

Don't know if this was asked or posted, is there a hack/patch for the US/Canada version of the game to get full unchanged content?

What content are you talking about ?

There is no additional content left out of the United States and canadian versions.

haha ok so in other words i should not go buy this game because i was thinking about it but from the last two comments its looking grim for all the hype made over this game

A lot of the people haven't even gotten past the intro zone.

It's a damn good game and it picks up A LOT after 20.

Don't know if this was asked or posted, is there a hack/patch for the US/Canada version of the game to get full unchanged content?

*and to the above review, it has DX10.

The game does *not* have DX10 at this point. That little DX10 checkbox? Accidentally left in the game, doesn't do anything. The DX10 client is delayed while they tweak it out some more and fix some of the issues they were having with it.

People also seem to be confused about the 64-bit thing. It is not a 64bit game, it just works on 64-bit systems is all.

ok so crap from start to 20 so far my friends who got it dont like it overly much and a few posts ive seen around the net its a mix and match. guess it depends on your game preference i guess i personally think online RPG's are ok world of warcraft i like because its simple but the pvp is craptacular i heard the pvp combat was supposed to be pretty good in this game

well not crap sorry for saying that but more laid back in the beginning

What content are you talking about ?

There is no additional content left out of the United States and canadian versions.

I am talking about the censorship, nudity, gore, dismemberment and all that. The NA version only has slight nudity and gore, nothing else.

Don't know if this was asked or posted, is there a hack/patch for the US/Canada version of the game to get full unchanged content?

*and to the above review, it has DX10.

Sadly this is untrue, granted the option is there, it actualy does nothing, the DX10 version/patch for the game is slated for a fall release from what I have read.

To be honest with you guys I am not all that impressed with this game at this point. It is just another MMO with improved graphics and different combat system but nothing really special here. At the end of the day it will still be a game where you have to spend money to work in becoming more powerful. It will just be a different experience but the core purpose of the game is the same. I think I'll stay away. Some of my friends have gotten it and currently they are WOW-ed by the graphics. Personally, I look for content more than I look for graphics, but that's just me....

You spend $60+ for the actual game then you spend $15 per month to play it....I still don't understand how people get tangled into these scams...

You spend $60+ for the actual game then you spend $15 per month to play it....I still don't understand how people get tangled into these scams...

Yeah I mean look at live ?40 for a game then ?5 a month to host servers on your own connection. Terrible.

The MMO pricing scheme isn't a scam. It's a decision on the part of the player whether or not they want to participate in an ever expanding universe. Do you buy expansions for single player games? Same theory, although cheaper. Your payment pays for patches, server hardware, further content development, character storage, technical support, bandwidth, and every other thing under the sun. They wouldn't be able to take any of those costs without your payments.

I do think the $60 initial purchase should be cheapened, but I can't disagree with the overall pricing structure. It's there for good reasons. The only part I disagree with personally is paying for MMO expansions when you're already paying every month for the game. Meh to that.

Back to Conan, looks like I should be able to snag a copy on the 5th.

    • NASA: This asteroid may not kill us but it probably won't be far off either by Sayan Sen Image by Zelch Csaba via Pexels New observations by NASA's James Webb Space Telescope have eliminated the last remaining impact threat posed by asteroid 2024 YR4, ruling out the possibility that the near-Earth object could strike the Moon in December 2032. NASA said observations collected by Webb on February 18 and 26, 2026, enabled scientists to refine the asteroid's orbit enough to "rule out a chance of lunar impact on Dec. 22, 2032." Instead, asteroid 2024 YR4 is now expected to pass the Moon at a distance of about 13,200 miles (21,200 km). The agency stressed that the update "reflects improved precision in our understanding of where the asteroid is expected to be in 2032 rather than a shift in its orbital path." The announcement closes a remarkable chapter in planetary defence that began in late 2024, when the approximately 60-metre-wide asteroid briefly became the most closely watched near-Earth object in the world. Discovered on December 27, 2024, by the ATLAS telescope in Chile, 2024 YR4 initially appeared to have a small chance of colliding with Earth on December 22, 2032. As astronomers gathered more observations, the impact probability briefly climbed to around 3%—the highest ever recorded for an asteroid of its size—before steadily falling as its orbit became better understood. By early 2025, international observations had ruled out any significant risk to Earth. However, astronomers were left with another possibility: a roughly 4% chance that the asteroid could instead strike the Moon. "The probability that asteroid 2024 YR4 will strike the Moon on 22 December 2032 is now approximately 4%," the European Space Agency (ESA) had said last year, noting that "there is a 96% chance that the asteroid will not impact the Moon." ESA said such an impact, while unlikely, would have presented an extraordinary scientific opportunity. "It is a very rare event for an asteroid this large to impact the Moon – and it is rarer still that we know about it in advance. The impact would likely be visible from Earth, and so scientists will be very excited by the prospect of observing and analysing it," said Richard Moissl, Head of ESA's Planetary Defence Office. "It would certainly leave a new crater on the surface. However, we wouldn't be able to accurately predict in advance how much material would be thrown into space, or whether any would reach Earth," he added. The asteroid also exposed an important blind spot in planetary defence. Because 2024 YR4 approached Earth from the direction of the Sun, it remained hidden from ground-based telescopes until after its closest approach. "We looked into how Neomir would have performed in this situation, and the simulations surprised even us," Moissl said. "Neomir would have detected asteroid 2024 YR4 about a month earlier than ground-based telescopes did. This would have given astronomers more time to study the asteroid's trajectory and allowed them to much sooner rule out any chance of Earth impact in 2032." He added, "As an infrared telescope, like Webb, Neomir would have also immediately given us a much better estimate for the asteroid's size, which is very important for assessing the significance of the hazard." The latest NASA observations underscore the value of space-based infrared telescopes in tracking faint asteroids. According to NASA, Webb made "among the faintest ever observations of an asteroid," extending the object's observational record by nearly eight months at a time when it had become too faint for other telescopes. That additional data allowed scientists to eliminate the remaining uncertainty surrounding its 2032 flyby. Although asteroid 2024 YR4 is now confirmed to pose no threat to either Earth or the Moon, scientists say its discovery remains one of the most significant real-world tests of the international planetary defence system, demonstrating how continued observations can rapidly transform an object once considered hazardous into one whose future path is known with high confidence.
