As previously rumoured, Kaz Hirai will be giving a talk at the SCEE PlayStation Day, as a rep has just confirmed.

“Yes he is,” a SCEE spokesperson told videogaming247 this morning when asked if the Sony super-boss was going to be at the event. “He’s going to be doing a talk.”

David Reeves will also be at the event, said the rep.

SCEE doesn’t want to reveal what’s going to be shown at the event in terms of software and services just yet, so you’ll have to wait for that, but if Hirai’s going to make the journey you can expect fireworks.

The SCEE PlayStation Day is being held in London on the evening of Tuesday, May 6.

I didn't even know an event was next week! :laugh:

As the big man is making a move to come, and obviously making a speech hopefully we hear a bit more about Sony's UK based projects.

Such as Home/LBP (Y) - And even The Getaway and 8 Days.

I'm also assuming we'll get a DS3 release date.

Just making this into an official topic.

It seems Killzone 2 and RFOM2 amongst other titles will be making an appearance tomorrow.

So what Sony shows off may be more worthwhile than some are expecting from this event :D

SCEE PlayStation Day kicks of at 4pm BST - all the news here

Keep your eyes open this afternoon, PlayStation fans, as SCEE will hold its 2008 PlayStation Day press conference at 4pm: it?s gearing up to be a whopper.

In the absence of E3, companies are now trending towards showing their end-of-year line-ups to the trade in April and May at their own events, and from what we?ve been told in private you can expect today?s reveals to be significant.

Details:

* 15.30 - Venue open

* 16:00 - Press conference

* 17:30 - Play time with games

We can?t tell you where it?s going to be held, but it?s a huge London venue and the guest list is described as ?substantial?. We know a good portion of what?s going to be shown and all we can say is that it will be worth your while to keep watching for updates.

Kaz Hirai and European boss David Reeves will both be giving talks at the event, and there?s a heap of rumours circulating about what?s going to be shown. It doesn?t take a rocket scientist to work out that you?re about to hear pretty much everything about Sony?s 2008, so make sure you?re paying close attention at 4pm BST, when - God willing - we?ll be bringing you live updates from the venue.

It?ll probably just be Kaz talking about ?brand equity?, a few PSPs and some warm beer, in reality. Don?t let us down, SCEE.

All aboard the hype train!

To be fair, it sounds like this should be pretty wor:pinch: - Don't do another GDC Sony :pinch:

jstevenson:

We are off to dinner, but rehearsals went well, Resistance 2 is up and running on its three kiosks and we had a nice game going with the boys in Burbank.

Should be fun... will live blog if I can (may be spotchy if I'm working) and will try to post maybe one of the screenshots when Ted shows it on stage (need to ask permission, I thinks!)

RFOM2 developer!

Looking forward to seeing some more from that game :yes:

^ just to clarify, jstevenson isn't really a dev for insomniac. he's a community manager for the company, but he works very closely with the devs. played resistance with him a few times. cool guy. :)

and he gave another tease on GAF...

We're in the final dress rehearsal, R2 is all patched up and ready to roll... I just got done adjusting TV settings (vivid equals BAD folks).

I played a game you all are fapping over in this thread... 100% confirmed.

he's most likely referring to killzone 2.

By the way, added links to the live blogs I can currently find in the first post.

Rumour is Sony may be putting up videos of the event on PSN afterwards... No live video though I don't think, so we'll have to do with live blogging.

According to my lanyard, the "sampling" period after the conference will give us hands-on access to the likes of Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet and Home, and MotorStorm 2 is called MotorStorm Pacific Rift. But you know that, assuming the people I left behind put it on the Internet when I ordered them to. Anyway, I'm going to stop wittering until something happens.

Yay, I hope we get some new KZ2 game play videos, not seen a new vid from it in like a 9 months :/

    • Looks like no official TBW rating, which should be a required listing in my opinion for sites like Amazon (hell, put it on the box too.)
    • I think I understood the article fine. Online password managers open users up to more possibilities of getting hacked, and due to KeePass being offline and local it reduces the idea of getting hacked. If someone chooses to put their database online they're kinda missing the point. With regards to the idea of the on-prem idea, I would have two issues. I'm not sure about the first issue, but I wouldn't be surprised about them offering a cloud storage for the passwords that most wouldn't bother to switch off, regardless of if they went for on-prem or not. The second issue is that the on-prem solution for Bitwarden costs money, whereas KeePass is free and open-source (as far as I am aware). The article points out how to sync the database between devices, and I recognise that deficiency in security. But it isn't a necessity. So both services can offer a same idea, but one is free and the other isn't...choices, choices.... But to each their own.

    • I am not surprised because life is the product of a lot of biochemical and physical processes that releases various energies as a by-product. The only thing new here is the detection of these photon emissions. The researches noted this "glow" is not a metaphysical one. They don't even immediately end when one is dead. Things like fires, light bulbs, and on a bigger scale stars release a lot more "light" and they are hardly alive.
