+Mirumir Subscriber¹ Posted May 1, 2008 Subscriber¹ Share Posted May 1, 2008 Looks like business-minded RIM are exploring a new form factor. A novel flip phone is expected to be officially unveiled in the coming weeks. Live photos of the first-ever clamshell by RIM leaked at BoyGeniousReport. Codenamed Kickstart, the newcomer is likely to get launched by the end of 2008 With specs still to come on the record, some BGR leaked images should do for a taster. TrackBall navigation and the proprietary SureType keypad look the right BlackBerry purists stuff. The form factor is another story. The clamshell features a secondary external display and will be among the imaging-enabled BlackBerry devices. cropcircles
Internet data plan is too expensive. PDA with the slide out qwerty keyboard seems to be the in thing. Nice phone however. russellc
I have to say that looks pretty bad, in my opinion. The operating system looks nice though. acnpt
Im not too keen on it, then again I don't really like any flip-phones. Flip-phones seem alot more popular in the US than here. +Mirumir Subscriber¹ Posted May 30, 2008 Author Subscriber¹ Share Posted May 30, 2008 Compared to all other crackberries, this one actually looks pretty good imho. The biggest advantage of this device, however, is functionality in a small form factor. The majority of blackberry users are business people who need easy access to email on the go - they couldn't care less about how the device looks as long as it works. How many flip phones are there with qwerty keys anyways? In this sence, this phone is quite evolutionary (Y) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/634522-kickstart-for-a-new-blackberry-flip/#findComment-589443086 Share on other sites
JayArias
Its gay. Blackberries should stay as they are now flat and simple. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/634522-kickstart-for-a-new-blackberry-flip/#findComment-589452898 Share on other sites
