Keyboard Brands. Some advice please.

I hate how on a lot of keyboards, after prolonged use the keys get...louder? More "crunchy" I guess? Haha.

Pretty crude description, but if you have a keyboard that you use A LOT then maybe you understand what I'm talking about. :p

Been using a Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 for about a month now and I love it. The motion of the keys is firm, not "squishy" like some, the curve helps greatly with arm/hand positioning, it's all black so it fits in great with the rest of my computer stuff, and it's got the slim laptop-style keys which feel so much better than normal keys to me.

I love it.

Before this, I had an i-rocks, BenQ, Logitech, you name it. I liked them all for a while, but this one is absolutely perfect.

Same here. Before the Comfort Curve 2000, I had a Microsoft natural one but after 5 years of destroying it, I had to get a new one and I did not want a keyboard split in two anymore because the other keyboards I use aren't split (work, laptop).

My criteria were simple: Flat, minimalist (no bs LCDs and Radar Domes) and either it's a Microsoft, Logitech or IBM. I went with the comfort curve 2000

Because it's flat and my table height's alright, I don't need some plastic bs to lift my hands at a point where all the blood rushes back down my arms like my previous keyboard.

Too many keyboards nowadays have crazy curves 'n features that I find useless. Backlit? LCD's? Why, I almost never stare at my kb :o I just needed the usualy 100ish keys, and this one has what you find on laptops, volume increase/decrease, next/previous page, and a few more.

Get a logitech one - everything they make is brilliant quality.

+1. I have a logitech wireless keyboard and a pair of batteries lasts me a year.

Dissenting opinion:

Go to your local second-hand shop.

Find an IBM 'Model M' keyboard. It will weigh about as much as a small laptop and be twice as durable. You'll probably spend like a pound for the privelege.

You can knock them down very completely, clean them out, and reassemble them, and they'll last you *forever*. I'm typing on one. I bought it used. It was made in 1992. The one I use at work was made in 1993. Both get plenty of use and still endure.

/drools

I love the model-M, it's my ideal keyboard. Big, heavy, and annoying to any other user around you. If only I could get a USB or Bluetooth one for my laptop.

Get a logitech one - everything they make is brilliant quality.
Not basic optical mice; these things stop clicking after 2 years of normal use or 1 year of WoW (they barely even click to begin with). Microsoft basic optical mice can easily last 4 years (or 2-1/2 years of WoW) and feel much more robust.

But in the high-end, Logitech makes some awesome stuff I agree.
