Rumor: Microsoft May Debut New Xbox 360 Motion Controller Next Week

Recommended Posts

According to sources that will go unnamed, Microsoft may be showing its Xbox 360 motion controller as early as next week to press, a controller geared specifically for Banjo Kazooie 3 gameplay. In fact, we've heard that select members of the press have already seen the controller?in use on the next Banjo Kazooie title?in action.

However, Microsoft's event next Tuesday, at which the new Banjo Kazooie is confirmed to be shown to North American press, comes with an embargo that lifts before the event kicks off proper. That means that whatever is on display for press will be revealed next Tuesday morning to everyone.

I am both excited and disappointed at this. I'm really excited because I loved the Banjo-Kazooie series on the N64, the original was just amazing. I'm also slightly disappointed though because they are splitting up people already (if this is true) with an optional controller. Who wants to go out and buy a $40 controller to fully experience the new game.

There are a lot of if's and buts at this point, so I guess we will just have to wait.

**** dude, I'll buy the controller if I need it to play Banjo 3. Totally worth it and totally awesome.

Though I seriously doubt you'll absolutely need the controller for games.

I'm sure they wouldn't make it necessary (it would kill sales) to play a game like that. As I said above though, they will market it as "having the full experience with the new controller" to play it.

I hate motion-sensing controllers. When I play a video game, I want to sit in an almost physically comatose state for maximum relaxation and enjoyment. If I want "motion" I'll go outside and do something :D

Apparently that mainstream thought is changing (thanks to the Wii). Which means we will only be seeing more and more of this in the future.

Yeah I'f its anything like mario Galaxy you won't lose anything by not having motion sensored controls although they could do something alot more radical. Really but, I prefer normal control pads anyway and would consider myself getting "the full experience" with one.

Last I heard, Banjo had been cancelled. Thankfully, it looks as though that isn't the case, phew.

You're thinking back to when there was 4 possible games, where one was cancelled. Choice of Fable 2, Too Human, Banjo and Marvel MMO. In the end it was Marvel MMO :p

Anyways, can't wait for Banjo 3, more excited about that than the controller :D

I doubt any retail games would require it, though it's a possiblility.

If Microsoft really wants this remote to work, they need to make a ****ton of arcade games that support it.

This is what I would expect, rather than full retail games requiring it. There are arcade games that require the camera so I'd expect to see arcade games requiring the 360mote.

Yeah but they need to release loads so it appeals to the casual freaks. Let them waste their money on some ****ty games so that maybe some real developers add support for it, thus making it useful to REAL gamers =p

Ah yes, of course. Still, we haven't heard anything from Rare regarding Banjo 3 for a long time now.

Well, if they wanted to require it, they could bundle 1 controller with the game and price it at $70 or $80 or something lets say. That way it would break ground for future titles to use the motion controller.

Not in a sense if it turned out to be a failure for the game. Unless it sold a ton, I'm still not sure that one game would convince many developers to get on board.

I think if it's done correctly and it proves to be fun, it definitely could. Look at Wii Tennis, I think that is one of the main reasons why people love the idea of the Nintendo Wii. (It was at least for me). Wii Tennis is executed beautifully, IMO.

I wasn't disagreeing with you in my last post. We just basically said the same thing. If its a failure, developers won't get behind it. It sells a ton or is bundled with the game (close to $60) and adds something to the game, it will be a hit.

It can't get much simpler than that.

Creating diagrams in the desktop app doesn’t need an internet connection. This is useful when you are disconnected or when you must create diagrams in a highly secure environment, where data protection is of the utmost importance. When you use the draw.io desktop app, your diagrams will be stored on your local device. Because this is a stand-alone application, also designed to run offline, there are no interfaces to cloud storage platforms available. Of course, you can still store your diagrams in folders that are synchronised to your cloud storage if you wish. Easy-to-use diagram editor The draw.io apps work just like the office and drawing tools you are used to using. Drag and drop shapes from the shape libraries and drag to draw connectors between them. Drag connectors to add waypoints and set a precise shape and position, or let them reroute automatically. Double click and start typing to add a label to anything. • Microsoft will soon allow some users to block Copilot from analyzing their Office files by Usama Jawad Microsoft Purview is a pretty useful data governance, security, and management service that allows customers to gain enhanced visibility and control over their content. It's meant for commercial customers, such as organizations that are storing data at scale. As AI continues to expand and infiltrate every corner of a firm, many are a bit conscious about the technology gaining access to their confidential data. Microsoft is now making a configuration change that will allow such customers to rest easy. Right now, users within an organization have the option to apply Purview sensitivity labels (when available) to secure certain files and label them as such. For example, if you apply the "Confidential" label on an Excel file, the file will be encrypted, and a "confidential" watermark will be applied to it. So, if this file is shared with anyone, they are aware that its access is supposed to be restricted. Up until now, Microsoft was allowing some connected experiences, like its AI services, to analyze files, regardless of their sensitivity label. This is of major concern to most organizations, as a recent example highlighted how confidential emails with data loss prevention (DLP) policies like privacy labels were being uploaded to Copilot for analysis. As such, Microsoft is updating an existing Purview data label sensitivity setting that prevents "some connected experiences that analyze content", from being blocked completely from doing this. The label isn't changing, but the blocking is now being enforced across all connected services (including Copilot and other AI tools), and now extends to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Files with the label applied already will get this enhancement automatically too once it becomes available. Microsoft has urged IT admins to inform their respective helpdesk and compliance teams, update internal documentation, and review sensitivity labels to ensure that they meet their respective compliance needs. This change is tagged as MC1297982 in the Message Center. General availability is scheduled to begin in a phased manner soon and will complete by the end of next month. That said, it is important to note that this only applies to commercial customers who have a license that allows them to use Purview.
