Is there anyway to design stuff for your iPod? As in like games and stuff. I know you can do that for the iPhone, what about the nano?

No, basically. There are a few apps out there that let you hack a few of the iPod's resources (fonts, images) but nothing more. I'm not even sure that's possible now as recent iPods (2G Nano onwards) have had encrypted firmware. I'd suggest getting an iPod Touch in September when the new ones come out and playing with that. We may even see an iPod Touch Nano, though that may not be until next year...

The short answer is no. At current the iPod Development Kit is only available to very select partners and, as far as I know, there is no plan to release it to the public.
