it's still price as so, however. could you try ordering it and cancel if it's not the actual price?

No, it's not. I clicked "Shop Deals" and it comes up as $1199. So it's just that one place that has a typo. I wouldn't expect them to honor that price (now, if you ordered it for that price and then found out it was supposed to be for another price, then they might).

If you really wanted the deal you should have contacted multiple agents. One of them might of bothered to say 'yes' and give you the deal, somehow.

What I noticed with Dell agents is that they can be very inconsistent at times so you might have been able to get lucky.

I don't know whether they were obliged to give you the deal though (by law).

boohoo .. pay the "extra" 200$ .. just honour their price...

Almost every seller has the right to cancel an order for whatever reason.

The simpliest and oldest in the book .. EOL the model .. bring it back an hour later.

Works like a charm, no legal issues what so ever :)

Then you're an idiot. You should have a standard disclaimer that says you are not responsible for pricing, availability, and descriptive errors.

Agreed with... well... just about everyone.

What a whining rant to expect to be given free stuff (or expect an arbitrary discount due to a typo error).

And you registered here today just to post this? What other sites did you spam with this crap?

Ugh. Some people...

Their products...their website...their business. Don't like it? Stop whining and move on to somewhere else. Almost every shop in the real world do the same thing. They do have the right to deny the mistake price if they are to sucess as a business. Humans makes mistakes everyday, even you. What if you made a mistake and sold a plasma tv for $1? You would be out of business in no time if your stand by your view.

Also posting this chat conversation is illegal and you could be sued for the same. It is the equivalent of recording a telephonic conversation with a CSR without their explicit permission.

The other members have already said what I wanted to say, so yeah.

As has been said, Dell reserves the right to modify their prices as they see fit to correct any error that may appear on their site without notification or responsibility to honor the incorrect price. It is something that all companies that do business online have clearly posted on their websites, mistakes do happen and though consumers sometimes feel slighted it is just how the business world works.

There was no intentional misleading here, it was a posted error that will be corrected.

Either pay the correct price, which obviously was reflected on the website for you to notice the didn't match, or select a different product that is closer to your desired price-range. :)

Note: I write this from an Australian legal perspective, though I assume the US/UK have very similar laws.

You need to understand the laws of offer and acceptance. Up until the point that they take money from you, they can renege on any deal. Essentially, you're offering to buy the XPS630 for $999. If it's a typo, they can say no to the offer and not take your money.

Same as everyone else, i think you where rude and just wanting a deal for no good reason.

I think it was rude of you to say the person had not been helpfull, just because they would not give you the deal you wanted, even though it didnt exist. The person went out of their way to explain why they did not have to give you the "deal" and you simply could not accept that, so ended up being rude.

I think its mostly grocery places that honor misadvertisements..cause really what are they gonna lose, 1 or 2 dollars. 200 bucks is something else though. I see your point about maybe having to honor it, but at the same time they do have a disclamer, so really you dont have much of a case. Most places that honor advertised prices actually have it as policy to honor it, nothing else.

    • "just $100 per TB"? Just? Are we trying to make this seem like the new normal? Kinda weird to make it sound like that is not a ridiculously expensive asking price.
    • The reviews you refer to mean nothing. Where there is no journalism there is no reason to call the gaming media's opinion pieces "reviews". For GP games there is indeed a metric for success - increasing subscriptions. Which turns in revenue. The only circumstance in which subs do not rise when great is being released is a Game Pass system where the company is close to fully saturated with customers in a subscription. However, in that case as the theory goes you spend aplenty in all kind of games - from shady live service cash cows and customer offending agitprop crap in purple colours to robust and entertaining single player games. And keep a solid level of profitability. Ignoring the simply innocuous but mid games MGS has released primarily of the second kind.
    • Report: Microsoft to use AWS to help GitHub deal with a major surge in demand by Pradeep Viswanathan Thanks to the surge of coding AI agents, GitHub's usage has skyrocketed over the past 12 months. To meet this demand, GitHub started with a plan in October 2025 to increase capacity by 10x. However, by early this year, the company realized that it needed 30x scale. This rapid growth has caused severe strain on the platform's reliability, resulting in several small outages over the past few months. In April, GitHub published a long blog post explaining the steps it is taking to resolve these reliability issues. In the post, the company also confirmed that it is working toward a multi-cloud architecture for better resilience. Today, Business Insider reported that GitHub is turning to Amazon Web Services to help deal with a major surge in AI-driven coding activity. It is important to note that GitHub is still in the process of moving completely to the Azure cloud. The current plan is to move the platform fully to Azure by 2027 so that it can scale better as per developer demand. Therefore, the current decision to utilize AWS might be part of a short-term plan to meet immediate demand. A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that GitHub is using multiple cloud providers with the following statement: For Microsoft, the decision highlights the operational pressure behind the AI boom. GitHub has to stay reliable for developers at a time when rivals such as Codex, Cursor, Claude Code, and other AI coding tools are gaining attention. And the decision to use AWS for computing capacity seems practical given the circumstances.
